That isn't the only reason for the high cost of premiums in the state. Minnesota also has mandated coverages for any plan available in the state that are more than any other state in the union. (figures are 2004, but do you really think our DFL would let that change?)

I know, a little off the taxes topic, but it all adds up.

Admiral...you should probably update your post to provide a link to your source of the quotes.

Add considerably to any govt cost estimates. The bigger the projected price tag the bigger the underestimate--often geometrically different. This is just one of the reasons the $1.2 estimated price tag for the 10 mile Central Corridor LRT line worries me so

Simple solution.

Medicare administrative costs -- 2%
Private insurance administrative costs -- 10-25%

Medicare is more effective at the administration than private insurance companies are, profit or non-profit. streamline the process and paperwork with one administrator and costs will go down.

Uh, yeah Bob.

First Medicare makes docs and Insurers do most of the paperwork work.

Second, Medicare can and does deny more coverage than private insurers can. No code, no coverage.

Third, Do you honestly believe that number? This is the same government that pays $500 for a toilet seat and has long lines at the DMV.

Why do liberals scream that the government lies when we talk about National security and they turn around and trust everything that say abotu healthcare? It's the same damned government, either they lie or they don't!

Yes, Medicare admin costs are that low, and yes, they make private companies do most of the work.
