Al will say, if he isn't already saying it, that the guys knew they were innocent and they thought the police were just out to kill them anyway so they were defending themselves...

I would like to know what the rap sheets on this "wedding party" looked like before I made any assumptions about the actions of the police.

What I find interesting is the media's description of the men as "unarmed." But wasn't at least the driver armed with a dangerous weapon, namely the car? I guess someone isn't dangerous unless they're carrying a firearm. I'll have to remember that the next time I see news of a fatal car crash involving a drunk or inattentive driver.

I like this excerpt:

"The department's policy prohibits shooting at moving vehicles states 'unless deadly force is being used against the police officers or another person present, by means other than a moving vehicle.'"

So the police are just supposed to stand there and get run over? That just goes against common survival instincts!

One of my favorite parts of these knee-jerk reactions by Sharpton & Co. after such an event is calling for an "ouster of the city's police commissioner", etc. What does this have to do anything? Did the Commissioner change the policy to read kill as many unarmed black people as possible? Lets make as many ridiculous statements as possible so everyone knows we are a bunch of rabble-rousing losers.

I read in a related article that Sharpton wasn't against Police using force, just Police brutality. How are situations like these brutality until proven otherwise? Even when these incidents turn out to be completely justified and grand juries return no bill, trash like Sharpton still cry foul. At least it's good entertainment for the rest of us.

SD...this is entertainment for people like you and I who have the ability for free though...but there are Sharpton followers who don't know the issues, don't CARE about the issues, they just blindly follow him and his "crusades".

And, of course, if that isn't enough, they also follow him to the voting both and vote for who he says they should vote for.

(Yes, I know and acknowledge that there are those of the right who also follow their religious right leaders, but, by in large, they are not out racebaiting every chance they get.)

Would that be called Christ baiting, instead of race baiting?

Yes Spectator, I do believe you are correct.

To bad when I pull out the Jesus card, I get stoned.(No not high Atheists, actually stoned with rocks, like in the Bible)
