I took some time this morning to explain to my 7 year old daughter that to day isn't just about grilling.

Thank you to everyone who has served, and thank you to those who are, and those who will.
I found out my son is leaving college for personal reasons, and is going to join the Marines later this summer.

Thank you Kermit for putting this up. It didn't seem right, that even on the defunct Anti-Strib, that it was mute on Memorial Day.

Contrast this with the usual rebuke of deceased American veterans by Google. What is their symbol for Memorial Day? A pathetic tiny yellow ribbon with no flag anywhere. This is a clear message of a desired surrender by withdrawal from the fronts we are fighting on today. Sad.

This has been a weekend that, without those that have made the ultimate sacrifice, we could never have enjoyed. Thank you and salute.

Drove back from the end of the gunflint trail today, Just my son and I. Had time to talk about the about the grandfather he never knew. Colonel, 3rd army, bronze star. One hell of a man, my dad.

Never forget.

" Never forget. "

It don't work anyway, I've tried.
