As much as I detest the man, his actions, and all he stands for: I would not wish this on anyone.
I wish him and his family the best.

Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

I agree with Jim and Sequel.

I detest all that the man is, says and does...but he is still a human being and no human being deserves this.

What I think is the WORST part in all of this isn't what this is going to do to him but rather what it is going to do to his family.

Ted is 76-years-old and is probably much more at ease with the thought of the end of his time on this earth...but it will be the people left living that will have to deal with the loss for many, MANY years to come.

I too wish him and his family the best.

I hope his family gets through this ok. If Teddy suffers I figure he has it coming and payback is a bitch.

Too soon schwein/hund...too soon.

I disagree with everyone, Except Maxx. I hope he suffers 100 times longer than Mary Jo Kopechne when he left her to die alone, in the water and in the dark.

From what I know about the Kennedy family, I have a hard time dredging up much sympathy for them either.

I can understand your wish, Il Duce'... but there are other people who deserve worse.

He'll stand before God and deal with his flaws.

Too soon my ass! The man has been a malignant growth in the politics of this country for 40+ years.
Besides the murder of Mary Jo, he led the charge to defund South Vietnam, thus setting the scene for the killing fields. He has been a spoiled little, er fat, elitist for a long time and now the shit has settled on him. Boo fucking hoo!
He has a history of treating people, mostly women like shit as well.
Again, I hope his family does ok through this but I will feel no sympathy for Teddy at all.

Lets put it this way with how I feel, I feel sad for Teddy and his family but I can safely say that the day he dies I will not be mourning it at all. I don't agree with his politics and as I've ranted before how come Bobby and Johnny had to die so young and this guy is still alive somehow? I guess it's true that only the good die young and Ted even though I feel sad for you in this situation I think the earth is finally balancing itself out now. Lets just leave it at that.

oh and as a sidenote, major props to anyone who guesses which movie the "earth tends to balance itself out" quote comes from.

My father died from glioblastoma. He suffered for 18 months, had an operation that took out some out of his brain, and went through radiation -- all known at the time to be probably for naught.

Tracy and pig/dog, you are both psychopaths.

For anyone to wish suffering and anguish upon another for this is unbeleivably ignorant and inhumane. And it is so obviously that.

This space left blank intentionally.

I dunno if Kennedy is ready for this. He's been making headlines through his behavior--generally not good ones--for four decades now, and now he's facing the prospect of meeting his Maker.

I despise his record, but I'll pray for him and his family. Hopefully this wakeup call gets him to repentance.

Gemtlemen, please.

Senator Kennedy has lived a public life. He's done some well publicized shameful things, and some others of which he might be proud.

Right now he's facing death, and anyone who takes this time to cast aspersions on him should wish for better luck when his own time comes.

Remember, you're next.

I sure am Ed so I'll give Teddy boy the disrescpect he earned.

I hate the idea that we suddenly have to be sincerely upset when our enemy gets ill. Ted Kennedy has been a pox on American society for decades and I am hard pressed to find any value in his life other than as a cautionary tale of the dangers of money, booze and power.

Why must we all lie when someone is ill or dying? Do they suddenly no longer desrve the truth?

If you believe in Judgement Day or Hell, how can you say kind words for a man destined to rot in eternal damnation?

Yeah, I gotta say, a dreadful fate like a brain tumor is not what I would wish on my worst enemy and I can't even say Teddy is that. Politically, he is against almost everything I believe in and on top of that, he's done other bad stuff and escaped justice notoriously. In my religion and at this distance, God is his only judge on being wrong and as to his personal sins.

I am curious about the level of vehemence against the guy here. People have all sorts of strong opinions about people they see on TV and in the media. But really, it's kind of a fantasy. They might as well be actors playing a character because you don't know them. You have no idea who they are or what they are like. The biggest hero can be the biggest jerk and the person with the most idiotic views can also be a fine, upstanding human being. The two things don't necessarily go together. I am not saying TK is one or the other. Clearly over twenty years ago he did something totally vile while he was drunk and escaped punishment. That doesn't really tell me too much about who he is today or the sum total of his life.

Duke, I try hard not to wish death and suffering on anyone. Even old teddy. Even Jeffery Dahlmer had a dog that loved him . Ted must have some kids that will miss him. God gets us all in the end.

I hate the idea that we suddenly have to be sincerely upset when our enemy gets ill.

Duce', we do it because we're better people than they are. We can disagree with the person all we want for decisions, actions, beliefs, etc., but it's our humility that sets us apart from folks that applaud sickness and death like the kossacks (or boo a person solely on the basis of their political leanings while they attend a funeral for a senator killed in a plane crash). When William F. Buckley passed, there were people that did applaud. When Ronald Reagan died, people cheered. We're better than that. We say respectful things because it's the RIGHT thing to do.

Yes, we're talking about a guy that has done bad things. he may deserve it, it's not for me to say, but I'm not the type of person that can do that.

I cheered a death - when Zarqawi died, I posted "ding dong the dick is dead". But it doesn't make me feel real good, despite the fact it was probably a death that saved countless lives. to paraphrase nobody, even Zarqawi had someone that loved him. I once heard in a movie something to the effect - the mourning is more for those that the dead leave behind. I guess in the case of Sen. Kennedy that is pretty accurate.

And just so I say it now - I have absolutely nothing but contempt for those that WILL rush to mourn for what this loss will do to the party. Just as with Sen. TIm Johnson, there are folks already worried about thd party over the man and his family. it is disgraceful.

Wow! Reveling in the misfortune of others. I'll keep a link to this post as well as a hard copy for future reference.

You people are truly terrible humans.

As if the left doesn't celebrate the misfortune of others every single day. Do I need to link to the sites that wish Bush was dead? Or how about the people that stalk Michelle Bachman and post the most hateful things about her?

I know, I'll dig up all of the liberal comments when Rush Limbaugh was found to be hooked on Oxycontin. You remember all of the sympathy he got from the left don't you?

Stick it in your ass Dougie. Others might want to continue the double standard where liberals shit all over Conservatives each and everyday and we are supposed to take it like saps, but not me. I intend to dish out exactly what I get from liberals.

If you want to wrestle with a pig, you have to be willing to get into the mud.

Again the politics of the high road. And that has gotten us where? John F'in McCain is the candidate, MN is headed for the highest taxed state in the nation, the enviro-weenies are hell bent on ruining our economy and our lives and Bush, Coleman, T-Paw and McCain are all helping them?

You say we are "better" than the liberals and then cry in your beer when we lose to them? Why don't we stop playing by the rules that the liberal media has us play by. We have to sit quietly while the beat the hell out of our guys and yet when one of theirs takes a hit, we have to act like Sunday School teachers?

BULL SHIT! Teddy Kennedy was a disgusting excuse for a human being. Chappaquidick alone ahould show anyone that, but he always had more. Defunding the Vietnam war, changing our immigration laws to the point were they were un-enforcable, assisting in rape and abuse of women.

Hell, if you take out the killing of the Jews, Hitler may have made a better dinner companion than Teddy Kennedy.

You all seem to be certain that I'll get what I deserve and so be it. Teddy got his and I am not sugar coating his pathetic excuse for a life to make myself look better.

Dougie, go fuck yourself. where have I reveled in the misfortune of others?

I hear you, Duce'. I can't say I disagree with what you're saying, but I'm not going to cheer this man's suffering just so I can give it back to the libs the way they do to us. POlitically, Yes, I will join in on that. But I will not revel (as dougie the little fucker says) in the man's sickness.

Doug please be specific/accurate- in regards to "you guys." Jim's post was a positive one.

I don't wish this on Ted and I refuse to treat him the same way the liberals treated Reagan.

Ted had always led the easy life, his handlers have always taken good care of him.
He enjoyed many terms as US Senator because he knew he could play the foolish Mass. sheeple. (They treated him like royalty, very un-American)

Who's reveling in Teddy's come-around?
Not showing sympathy for someone you consider an enemy of damn near everything you believe in is a far cry from celebrating.
I don't feel he deserves my sympathy.
I don't care what anyone thinks of that either.

The liberalization of America, if your enemy is taken out of battle your supposed to shed crocodile tears over the lose of your enemy.

So much for honesty being the best policy. Or maybe is only OK to be honest when no one is looking.

There is a difference between being honest and being psychopathic in pursuit of blog hits.

And when you call someone like Ted Kenndy your enemy, you only belittle your strident demands that America considers the others you insist are our enemies, are really our enemies. To you whackjobs, who is not your enemy -- there are so many! The number and varieties are endless. You cannot be taken seriously because you have so much hate for so many, and tolerence for so few.

We seem to be tolerating you.

commenter......liberals celebrated Reagan's death....Nixon's...and so on. Conservatives at least have the sense to put aside the politics and wish for recovery. I don't like Kennedy, but I also don't know him. He has many friends and family, I hope he gets well just from a humanist view. He's still an idiot, but I wish him no harm and a speedy recovery.

Yah know, no matter my feelings about Teddy the Murderer or any other lefty, always remember, every last one these butts was elected and re-elected. Every last one.
As Pogo so eloquently put it "We have met the enemy. And he is us."

In my political youth I was aligned with Ted Kennedy. As I grew older and more experienced, I went the opposite way. But I still wish him success, in fighting, and surviving to the extent he is able, this nasty disease. And my heart goes out to his children and extended family.

I have to agree with Bike Bubba and Badda....my prayers to the Senator and his family. He will have to answer for his sins soon enough.

""Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her."

John 8:7

Do I need to link to the sites that wish Bush was dead?

Yes. Please do. Link to all of the sites that say they wish Bush were dead.

Or how about the people that stalk Michelle Bachman and post the most hateful things about her?

Again. Yes. Please do. BTW, it's one L two N's

I know, I'll dig up all of the liberal comments when Rush Limbaugh was found to be hooked on Oxycontin.

No you won't. You're too lazy. And the negative comments about Rush's drug problem were related to the hypocrisy of saying drug users should be locked up yet when he was found to be the drug user, he paid no price for his crimes.

Thanks Tracy.

I played the nice, "It's Sad" role day all day at work.
Thank you for the vent and putting into words most of what I was/am feeling about this.

You people are truly terrible humans.

You’re going to get a FUCK YOU from me as well. Show me where I am reveling in the misfortune of Ted and his family?

Again…I think I was quite clear that NO BODY deserves this and that I REALLY feel for his family. You want to try to be disingenuous and paint us all as “reveling “ in his misfortune, go right ahead, but goes to show everyone what kid of person YOU are.

Duce,

My Grandfather was an abusive ass to my father and his siblings. It has been confirmed that he was physically abusive and might have even sexual abused his daughter (this is only being speculated on). But that does not change the fact that he was my grandfather and that when I watched him take his last breath I was sadden to see him go.

Ted Kennedy is a person, and no matter WHAT we might think about him, someone DOES love him and someone WILL miss him.

There is a difference between being honest and being psychopathic in pursuit of blog hits.

Sigh. So, are you suggesting that you see an ulterior motive here? DId you happen to catch previous post I've put up like this, for Sen. Tim Johnson and Elizabeth Edwards? Just how am I being dishonest here? please, enlighten us with your clear genius into the workings of the conservative mind. This should be fun.

"Duce', we do it because we're better people than they are."

Jim, I think the Duce proved you wrong on that one.

Not quite Ed.

Jim, I say that classy person would not choose this as the time to attack Sen. Kennedy.

Duce wrote yesterday: "Teddy Kennedy was a disgusting excuse for a human being...Hitler may have made a better dinner companion than Teddy Kennedy."

These are the words of someone without compassion. I don't care what the dying man did, we're all humans and in some sense we're in this thing together. At a time like this, a civilized person either expresses his sympathy or he keeps quiet.

Hence I have kept quiet.

So Ed, you share that compassion for Pol Pot, Stalin and Idi Amin? Not that Teddy was as bad as all of them, but not all humans deserve sympathy. Some people have done more damage than others.

I didn't say anything when Tim Johnson was ill, even though his party made it all about his seat. I even kept quiet when Welstone dies as he was a decent man with an opposing view point.

But Ted Kennedy has been THE poster child for the corrupting influence of money and power. He paid NO penalty for the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. His immigration policy in the 60's was found to be a bold faced lie. His desire to "get" Richard Nixon allowed the Killing fields of Cambodia. I don't know how much to blame him for the sexual escapades of his kids and realtives, but it's safe to say that the man is not a friend to women.

So you insist that I remain quiet or, even worse, express hope for a full recovery for someone that I know has done irreparable damage to the United States?

Sorry, but I didn't start the blog to lie about things. I had hoped to say somethings that other people weren't able to say.

Politics is a full-contact, blood sport, it has been this way for a while. If we continue to pretend that Americans respect us for taking the high road, we will continue to lose to the Democrats. Americans may say that they want civility, but they watch Jerry Springer and they vote for the people that tear their opponents to shreds.

Dougie D and Bullshit Spewer,
Get your effing shineboxes, you pair of oxygen bandits.

Always with the subhuman comments. Always with the hate-this, and hate-that, and racist-this, and whatever other bullshit springs to your mind.

Dweebs.

Doug,
Just when I tought I would agree with you on something, you turn right around and prove to me why I think you're an idiot in the first place.
Now get in there and make me some bean dip.

If you think it makes you a better person to bullshit yourself and everyone else by fawning over this toad go for it.
I won't waste my sympathy on him.
I won't piss on his grave either, but that's mostly cuz I hate standing in lines.

Just when I tought I would agree with you on something, you turn right around and prove to me why I think you're an idiot in the first place.

Are you talking to me or Dougie D?

I will not mourn for Ted Kennedy, but I will not revel in his misfortunes, either. I dislike the man, for many things, including his politics.

I don't wish misfortune on him for one reason. He will have his day of reckoning, and I don't believe that he will be getting past the Pearly Gates any time soon.

This is one reason why the Right can be more sympathetic, we believe in an afterlife, and that sins will be weighed. The Left has no such belief in most cases, so they have to take out their rage here on earth. THAT is why we had the people dancing in the streets when Reagan died, and Nixon died, and why they just didn't understand that we could really mourn for a man like Paul Wellstone.

Ah Sanders, they DO believe in an afterlife. And they do believe they'll not only make it past the Pearly Gates, but God will give them the keys to the city to boot! And why you ask? because of all the "good, godly and Christian" work(s) they've done. And so many church goers, who support the Kennedys, Klobuchars,Ellisons, Rybaks, Colemans and McCollums of the world, and seemingly think that forcing people to either "do good" or go to jail is godlike are sorely deluded.
The Lord God is the Ultimate Gentleman and is not a god of force.
The lefties of the world fail to realize good works are the fruit and not the root of salvation.
Matt 7:21-23

Teddy has a malignant growth?

Or is it just that he is
a malignant growth.
