Kermit, that is one of the most decent and fair obituaries I've ever read. You're a good man.

Saverino

I don't know if I agree with Saverino about you being a good man, but I do agree that this was a very good post about someone whom you could have just as easily trashed.

Nice work.

Excellent work!

Molly Ivans did correct herself when she was wrong about the casualties in Iraq. She wrote a whole column and appologized to her readers.

nice work Kermit. That was a very nice tribute.

"Having a balance of power in a democratic republic relies on extremes. I am one extreme."

Thanks for the honesty, Kermit.

RIP Molly. She made my blood boil everytime I read her columns. But as Kermit so eloquently pointed out, you knew where she stood and she will be missed.

I have no wish for anyone to die, but your assessment of Ivins is laughable IMO. She was a sniveling douche-bag, since "she liked to say it the way it was", then she won't mind hearing the way it IS. I hope she lived a good life and was kind to people who needed kindness, but she was beyond a bore and in fact represented what was bad about liberals. Bush was a gentleman to her, ALWAYS, and she re-paid that by being a cur towards him. I will not miss her rants, not at all.

BTW.

Here is President Bushs comments. What class and grace. He gave better than he got.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Molly Ivins was a Texas
original. She was loved by her readers and by her many friends,
particularly in Central Texas. I respected her convictions, her passionate
belief in the power of words, and her ability to turn a phrase. She fought
her illness with that same passion. Her quick wit and commitment to her
beliefs will be missed. Laura and I send our condolences to Molly Ivins'
family and friends.
