What is wrong with a debate between two politicians about the effect of global warming alarmism on modern siociety? Klaus is FAR more qualified than Gore to speak on this topic. He is an respected and published economist while Gore has never been anything but a politican his entire life. He was a seminary student and later studies journalism and law. Hell the man never mustered out with a single degree in anything! And you fools blindly let him lead you by the nose on AGW?

He has consistently ignored the numerous calls for debate, from Dennis Avery, Lord Christopher Monckton (former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher advisor), Bjorn Lomborg (Danish economist), author Michael Crichton, Prof. S. Fred Singer (former director of the U.S. National Weather Service), Tim Ball, Ph.D. (historical climatologist), Prof. Ian Clark (University of Ottawa), and Prof. Richard Lindzen (MIT) among others.

Why? Because he would surely lose and then the money men he has conviced to join him, expecially his Goldman Sachs investment banker pals, that are investing hundereds of millions of dollars to make even bigger bucks off of future carbon trading schemes would become very angry.

For reference, Klaus is not only the former President of the Czech Republic (not Czechoslovakia since the early 1990s, Al), but is also a reasonably distinguished economist who has been championing free markets in the region since the 1960s. He doesn't quite have the scars of credit that Richard Wurmbrand got, but reality is that he's been carrying unpopular opinions for decades.

He's also multilingual and familiar with the scientific method, unlike Gore, who can barely manage to spout off falsehood in his native English.

I predict Klaus by TKO in the 2nd round, which is why Gore won't step into the ring.
