If the ACLU had any balls they would take up this case, I'd like to see how CAIR would explain this one away. The trial lawyers in this country would have a field day if this was against Islam, I'm surprised there's even any press about this. LL do you know about Jihadwatch.com? Thank you LL for posting this... I am a Tech alum, and I will be writing to the administration regarding this.

I can't believe this would have happened back when Chuck Sell, Ed Johnson, or John Carlsted were handling things... We had an Iranian exchange student here one of the years I was at Tech... He came here for his senior year. He was a nice guy. I hope the friendship that was shown him is working for a difference over there.

I watched a show about Arabic dessert dwellers. A dog was "accepted" to be owned if it was used for protection of a man's family or aided in hunting.
EX: flushing rabbits out of brush working in unison with falcons. Sheep herding dogs, guard dogs.

How is a working guide dog any different???

True enough Nony. I worked with a gal who trained working dogs. She would foster the pup through age two - starting it's training and they she would hand it off to the group that would then place the dog with a worthy client.

However, if the owner allows it, that is their choice. I always ask when I approach a service dog.

One of the board members of my company raises labs as working dogs...and the only rule that there is with them is that you NEVER hand feed them.

Otherwise we pet them ALL THE TIME...as well as clean up spots on the carpet.

LL is correct...petting a working dog is not encouraged...but can be allowed by the owner...and in this case he was trying to get the Mooselimbs to overcome their irrational fear of them.

There are dogs all over Iraq. Our friends, Muslims who moved back to Paki loved our dogs. Like the alcohol in the cabs, bacon at the stores, footbaths downtown and now dogs, the Somalis are the ones pushing the envelope and insisting we do things their way. Even when imams and other Muslims say they are full of shit about transporting hooch or touching packaged bacon, they insist and intimidate people to get their way. These mutts are trouble. Trouble for us and trouble for other Muslims.

The ADA is bad law. Always has been.
That being said, I suggest the offending student be forced to go to sensitivity and diversity training, including, but not limited to going to intern at a dog grooming salon and next being blindfolded and given a guide dog to go through heavy traffic.
Not quite sure how we'll protect the dig though.

Chris Baker was discussing this on his program this morning and a Muslim practitioner called in and said that the Somali interpretation comes from the Hadith and not the Koran...that the Koran actually praises dogs for their ability to protect and serve mankind!
