Kerry is a coward for standing up for what he believes in and taking a political risk?
Or are you refering to the swiftboat liars?

With all do respect to the newbie commnentor on the left. This is nothing but a political "stunt" to collect names for his 08 run. You obviously wouldn't recognize a blatant example political expediency if it bit you in the ass.

John Kerry is a narcissist and has always been one. Therefore, everything is about John Kerry to or his country is never as important as what he can do for himself. Also, he tends to be delusional in a way. He believes he will be the President someday. He REALLY believes it. The Dems want him to go away, but he never will. I know this is amateur psychology, but I believe it to be true.

Whatever Kerry's motives, it's gratifying to see the Dems at least feigning some fight. That will keep the nomination in play through the Sunday talk-show cycle...and, if it's handled right, the confirmation will be an ugly, venom-filled spectacle that taints the SOTU address and poisons any statements Bush may have prepared regarding "bipartisan support" for any piece of his agenda.
Plus, we have all of Monday and Tuesday for some new shoe to drop on Abramoff, the NSA wiretaps or a dozen other brewing scandals.
As big a worm as he is, Kerry did the right thing -- politically -- by calling for a filibuster, keeping the drama high and denying the President an easy victory.

MGB I've been doing this for a couple of years now. I'm not a Newbie.
But If I recall correctly, the right answer is that Democrats always act like self interested goons, immoral and amoral, while Republicans (except the hated moderates) are always big hearted and honest, acting out of principle.
Is that right?

Actually No, politicians on both sides of the aisle are capable of this sort of opportunism. Many of us on the right however, recognize and are willing to call it what it is when it happens in our own party.
