I didn't watch the debate. Like watching ice-skating, they make me nervous. I guess I just hate to see anybody screw up.
Thompson's advantage is that he has nothing to lose so he can come out firing.
The focus group thing that FoxNews does surprisingly was WILDLY for Romney winning this thing and thought that Huck stunk up the joint.
Oh well.
Anyway, when they asked how many people came here supporting Romney and 3 people raised their hands. Then when he asked how many people think Romney won the debate, almost the whole room raised their hands.
Their basic thinking was that Romney just looks and acts more like a President whereas Huckabee seems more interesting in cracking jokes than offering substance.

You know what. Think about this.
Thompson surges right at the end to take enough votes from Huck to let Romney take Iowa. Then Mitt goes on to win the nomination and he selects Thompson as his running mate due to his increased popularity.
Could happen.

FoxNews just gave Huckabee a 20 minute exclusive interview right after the debate, and as far as I can tell, nobody else.
Hell, Huck doesn't need money when he gets that kind of free advertising.

I still cannot believe that Cavuto interviewed Huckabee for 20 minutes after that debate and no one else.
That should be a violation of some FCC statute. I mean to interview just one guy and let him promote all of his policy initiatives while excluding anyone else?
Pathetic.

Ok,
Tonight FoxNews made up for it with a big fat puff piece on Romney's debate performance (discussed by Frank Luntz) and an interview with Romney.
I feel better now.
Best thing Romney said?
"I don't get the thing with Obama. Here is a guy that has no executive experience on any level. Hasn't done anything in the Senate. Didn't do much at the state level and he wants to be POTUS just because he speaks well? To me that makes no sense..."
It was funny because you could really see how incredulous he was at the idea.
