It was one of the silliest reports I have ever seen.

Word I am hearing from people that have actually met and seen Thomspon at places like the Iowa State Fair is that he comes off much older and more frail in person than he does on the TV shows.
This particular friend of mine that met him thought his energy level was much lower than he expected.
He does have cancer and although he says its nothing, cancer does have a way of taking it out of you. Look at poor Tony Snow, he looks like he has aged 30 years in last 6 months.

"He does have cancer and although he says its nothing, cancer does have a way of taking it out of you.Look at poor Tony Snow, he looks like he has aged 30 years in last 6 months."
A comparison of the two cancers involved is ludicrous. It's like saying herpes is comparable to HIV, they're both viruses.

Unbelievable. Despite Cameron's family ties to the Bush White House, he was all over the pre-911 Israeli spy ring and the Israelis-dressed-as-Arabs who were caught filming and celebrating the collapse of the Twin Towers. I would have expected more truth from him.
It goes without saying, though, that Fred has missed his moment. His surf was up three months ago, but he didn't grab the board. At this point, the big money is spoken for, Mitt is struggling to eclipse Ron Paul, and it's looking more and more like Rudy Giuliani will be the new definition of Conservatism in the 21st Century -- socially ultra-liberal, morally ambivalent and a total nutbag Mad Hatter when it comes to foreign policy and national security.
I'm no fan of Republicans, but I'll vote for Rudy just to make sure our kids get an early introduction to homosexual values and the plus-side of cross-dressing. China and Russia will make sure he doesn't embarrass us on the world stage.

Redrider,
I'm just saying, Thompson doesn't look well.
IMHO, based upon my experience, Fred Thompson looks like a man suffering from cancer. You may not think so, but I think so.

SCREEEEEEEECH! THAT'S THE SOUND OF THE BRAKES ON FRED THOMPSON'S WHOLE CAMPAIGN!
Talk about screwin the pooch, Fred Thompson in Iowa made the ultimate Conservative Death Boo-boo:
He refused to rule out raising taxes.
Bump-ba-bummmm.
Wow, just wow.
Here the article blurb:
"August 18, 2007 -- DES MOINES, Iowa - Fred Thompson wandered very close to getting into the 2008 presidential race yesterday in his first foray here - riding a wave of political celebrity but carefully skirting the pitfalls of specifics.
The former senator from Tennessee, who is expected to enter the race next month, wants to be the conservative alternative to Rudy Giuliani but refused repeated requests yesterday to rule out raising taxes.
"We are in the process of gradually bankrupting future generations in this country," Thompson said of Social Security and other entitlement programs that will plunge the federal government deeply into debt over the next decade."

Thompson is clearly not in good health and should take the time he has left to enjoy his life with his wife and young children.
It is selfish to continue to push him into a candidacy that is clearly not in his best interest in terms of his health.
