Yep, some folks just need killin'. But for me, that goes for Nazis bashing in newborn jewish babies' heads against walls, or al Qaeda cutting Nick Berg's head off...not for some punk that totals your Corvette, even the one in question.
Now, I can segue into one of my pet laws that I would propose if I ever get to Congress. That is this:
If you want to burn the U.S. flag, go right ahead and do so, it's your first amendment right. But, if someone sees you doing it, and wants to beat the ever-loving crap out of you for doing it, then they are totally in the clear. I think we'd see a lot fewer flag-burners.
We can add punk-ass kids that total your Corvette as a rider on that bill.

We're talkin about cars here astro. I couldn't care less about flag burning. Especially considering it ain't even my flag.

Oh, this is just one of those things that comes up...flag burning. Not like we have a big problem with that, but some people want to make constitutional amendments to prohibit it. Whatever.
Hmmm...nope, that kid didn't deserve death...
Actually, there was this really cool scene in a recent episode of Alias, where Sydney's dad was trying to get information out of this guy, and so he chokes the life out of the guy and kills him! Then, he gets a defibrillator and does CPR to revive the guy. Then, of course, the guy gives up the information.
Maybe you could do that to the kid.

I bet if you asked the kid if it was worth it he would say, "Totally!".

I'm a car guy also. I feel that guy's pain. If that were me, I would have went mental. Death would be the easy way out. I'd would've made sure that kid experienced a more lasting pain where death would've been prefered. He would definitely show some respect for other people's rides in the future.

Nate - Still say, if this kid lived, there should have been some way to prevent this defective gene from reproducing.... kinda like that you were talking about with your cigar. Some lessons need to have a living example.

I want to sympathize I really do... but didn't Chevy bring this upon themselves by making the Vette look as cheap and crummy as the Camaro all through the 90s? I just can't weep for faux muscle cars. Now if it was a Viper or a Shelby Cobra??? That's worth weeping over... or a blind murderous rage. Hehe

Gotta brag here....Dad had a '65 Stingray w. dual factory exhaust, fuel injection, and pretty much every option available in 1965 (including AC). Bought it for $6000 in 1979 and sold it 5 years later for twice as much...one year before I could drive, dammit!!!
The yahoo who bought the car gutted it and turned it into a dragster. Put a big scoop on the hood and made me cry. He "needed killin'" too.

I have to agree with Nate on this one... I grew up driving, well ermmm I mean I turned 16 and was able to take my Dad's Corvette out whenever I wanted to (almost). Granted it was an '84 (cross-fire injection not TPI), bleh. But still it was a CORVETTE, able to do 140mph. Although the last 5 to 140 went awfully slow.
The car was priceless, in my eyes.
I had one time where some punk threatened to key the car because he thought I was making eyes at his girl.
First off, I said, "You would key a 'vette?"
He said, "Yeah, so."
I replied, "I will now kick your ass not because you are a friggin' loser and are making a bigger deal then needs to be made about me and you girl but because you would key a 'vette."

The 35th anniversaries were hot cars, but the '79 C3 remains the most beutiful machine that God ever inspired man to build.

Nate,
So I'm guessing hell for you would be a perpetual NASCAR race with your car being an old Chevette diesel automatic.

I was never much for Corvettes after they changed the body style.
Give me the late 60's early 70's models any day!
But my dream is the Shelby Cobra!

When I worked downtown there was a beautiful cherry red 'Vette that would go by frequently. Behind the wheel wearing racing gloves, cap and mirror shades was this little old man who must have been about 300 yrs old. He could barely see over the dash. He radiated that Formula 1 attitude and concentration as he blazed down the road at 15-20 mph. It was truly a sight to behold.
