William Raspberry once did a column on this, years ago. He asked the rhetorical question "What will we do when racism is over?", then went on to discuss cleaning up the neighborhoods and investing in black business and educating children so they can compete.
He finished the column by asking another rhetorical question... "Why don't we just PRETEND racism is over, and start doing those things NOW?"
That, in a nutshell, is the problem in "The Black Community". Too many people making a living off racism.

Oh, you didn't even mention the bullcrap about how black people can use "the n-word" all day long when talking to each other, but Lord help a white man who uses that word. If it's such a bad word, then don't use it!
In my estimation, though, there's a difference between a black man and a n-word. And it ain't hard to tell either.
How about the word "handicapable"? Vox and I go off on the pc crap everyonce in a while. Also, I have a mongoloid uncle, our entire family refers to him this way, it's what he is, not who he is.
"handicapable" reminds me of when I was teaching SCUBA at the U and the pool was being used for a "para" olympic event. This woman in a wheelchair (one of the coordinators" was try to get out of the wet classroom and all the desks were in dissarry, so I was trying to move some stuff and asked her if she'd like some help. She proceeded to glare at me and bulldoze her way through the desks. You just know she'd be the same person bitching if she really needed help and no one offered. Feminist and in a wheelchair, handicapped in so many ways.....

Suicide Bomber. That's the accurate term. They are committing suicide. It's not like attempting to take some folks with you is unheard of outside the realm of terrorism.
A homocide bomber wouldn't be blowing himself up. He'd be blowing other up. A suicide bomber is blowing up himself and others.
I'll give you 'Suicide Terrorist', but I like the way 'Homicide Bomber' makes you think differently about it.

it's amazing how powerful language is. people start wars because of words. our tongues (heck, our keyboards these days) are more powerful that weapons. learning to communicate effectively is like learning kung fu. although, saying that you know kung fu sounds a little cooler to me.
Y'all, I can't even type the N-word, because I have made a conscious effort to eradicate that word from my speech. Why? Because I sure as heck don't want to get into trouble for saying or writing that word.
Sometimes, though, like when I'm driving to/from work in my truck, I just say it several times really quickly to get it out of my system.

But Nate, the purpose of the bomb is to kill others, not to kill themselves. That is, they wouldn't pull on Semtex underwear simply because they were depressed. The entire point of the thing is to kill *other people*. Thus, 'Homicide Bomber' is more accurate.
Although, I agree with Bane that 'Suicide Terrorist' is probably the most accurate.

The word suicide in the phrase is an adjective describing the type of bomber. Homicide Bomber does make me think differetly. It takes my attention away from the bomber, and makes me think about the idiot I'm listening to.
I'm all for demonizing the enemy, but I must interject that several of these Homicide Bombing Terrorists have been well educated young professionals. One of the bomb-broads was a paramedic of some sort, as I recall.

Seriously, though, Bane's right. Many of these loose screws are, indeed, well educated people. The explanation for this is, I believe, that they have a moral problem, not an intelligence problem. If the goal is to kill lots of innocent people, these bombings certainly acheive that end. And the walking grenade's religion teaches that he'll end up in heaven for his trouble, with a coupla minxes in burkas fer comp'ny.
I think it goes back to Hagar, and the fact that Abe's wife was a bitch.
