This reminds me of what Taranto on Opinion Journal.com writes about called the Roe Effect. All of the libs have been aborting their babies for all these years now so the next generation that is coming up is overwhelmingly Conservative, because all of the babies that would have been raised in a Liberal home have been killed. He actually broke the numbers down one time and it showed that the Roe effect cost teh libs the 2000 election.

I would like to second Nates thoughts as well. There is nothing more frustrrating than trying to have an intelligent conversation with a lib.

Didn't the Ketchup Queen say something several weeks ago about "sitting down and holding hands with our enemies", or something to that effect?

Ask the Mexicans about raising wages for the poor. When NAFTA was implemented jobs left the US for south of the border. Over time the Mexicans got more skilled and those not working soon found jobs. Eventually wages had to go up. Guess what happened? Eventually, the businesses that moved south, moved out to cheaper pastures.
That is how a free market should work. The trick after the wages start rising is to give the businesses reason to stay and pay the higher wages instead of moving on. This should not involve tax incentives or government punishments for leaving.

A-F**KING-MEN. I don't know what else you had to say since I stopped reading after this point. I can only take so much redneck hullabaloo in a given day.
JK, great post.

I hate that Churchill quote.
I'm a conservative because I'm not retarded, not because I don't have a heart. I realize that it's just a fun little quote, but some people take that stuff seriously. By those standards Reagan was a monster and Stalin was God on Earth.

Conservatives think. Liberals feel. Next time you're on a suspension bridge, pray that the designer didn't just "go with his feelings".

Heh, since I am a designer (albeit and atypical one) I can shed some light. Designers feel and draw emotion while engineers bring reality to a given project.
Whether a bridge is beautiful or simply an ugly utility...the engineer ALWAYS is the one to make it work.

A designer's bridge would be knocked into the sea at the first 20 mph wind. Funny, most designers are libs, most engineers are cons...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Nate,
None of those countires, I wish we were emulating the country upon the documents our Founding Fathers wrote.
Oh, and Nate, is not the 5.4% unemployement rate a US government figure?

They are all government figures. Meaning I'm quite positive that they are all inaccurate.

Nate, interesting point, but I think you've unwittingly exposed the problem with the lack of distinction between the two parties.
It goes to the core haze that liberals live behind. They ignore the Law of Unintended Consequences, and are regularly bitten on the butt by it.
This is exactly right. And the steel tariff example chosen is very interesting in light of which liberal actually imposed it...
The Bush Administration's economic policy has also shown a tendency toward protectionism. In March 2002, President Bush imposed highly controversial steel tariffs, and in 2003 he sought to limit imports of Chinese textiles in an effort to protect the American textile industry in mostly southern states.
Both parties are flaming statists who don't give a damn about freedom. Period. All the arguing you hear is about how one will spend our money better than the other.

It's for a particular reason that some people call him George Delano Bush. The 'Conservatives' have been becoming more and more liberal all the time. They've practically adopted the Democratic platform. It must be hard for Kerry when his opponent keeps using Democratic talking points.
Never stand up for liberal statists, whether Democrat or Republican.

So all the scandal they dreck up the TV and radio with, instead of sound solutions (they don't have any), that's the freaking "politics of being nice"!?
There's a word for anyone who would vote for that indicisive, gutless bag of bones running for President on the Democrat ticket: It starts with "f" and it ends with "ool"!

I don't vote, and I strongly encourage everyone to do the same. Avoid federal elections like the plague.

Nate,
I wholeheartedly agree. By voting, all I'm doing is to nullify the vote of an illegal alien (isn't our citizenship worth a lot?), so why bother. Not voting is also the only way I have of voting "None of the above" since they refuse to give me that choice on the ballot.

One time a really liberal guy I have the misfortune of knowing cussed me out in public at the top of his lungs and insulting my intelligence because I made known the fact that I am conservative. And he had the nerve to tell someone later that he respected other people's opinions. Apparently only if they agree with his own...
