The Cop thing is a national epidemic Bill. It's happening all over the country. Sure the latest examples have been up north, but it's everywhere.
My nerves are raw on that matter, Yankee or not.
Maybe it's because, in this case, it really COULD happen to me or my family.
The difference between cops and criminals is the badge. There are good cops - ones who do a good job and work to uphold the law without trampling all over it to get their job done.
Then there are those who have power because they have a badge and you have to do what I say because I have a badge, etc, etc.
Next you have the thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. Last, you have the guy who is close to retirement age or just doesn't give a flip.
That's too bad you've got the downs there Nate. Too bad Julie's on call right now, I think you need her more than the drink while you're feeling down.
Things will get worse before they get better in my humble opinion, but we know Who we are supposed to keep our eyes on.

Bill, when you a discharge a weapon into a crowd of people, it is not an accident when one of them gets hit. It may be justifiable, or it may not be, but it is certainly not accidental. This kind of crap is happening all over the country, the only reason this made the national news was the World Series connection.

Like I said, "Death By Cop" is a universal sport.
That whole thing was an over-reaction to an under-reaction after the last Superbowl. There's a "new sherrif in town". She (yes, SHE) took over for the last pathetic wretch, who saw riots coming (after the Pats Superbowl win) and did nothing. He took a lot of grief for it, and left with his tail between his legs. So, she pretty much just wanted to go hardcore from the get go.
