This wouldn't have happened if the government hadn't de-regulated airlines. It was probably global warming that caused the tires to catch on fire, and it's Bush's fault for using all the good planes to search for the missing WMD's in his blood-for-oil war in Iraq!

And don't don't forget that he hates black people.

Bill, Sir, you forgot to mention how Bush and this pilot are destroying the enviroment by dumping that jet fuel over the ocean when it could have been used to help some poor victim of the hurricanes.

Gravatar Farmer Tom: And don't forget the carbon dioxide they emit into the air when breathing. Just horrible for Mother Earth's asthma.

JN, nah, he doesn't hate black people. He loves 'em

w/ a little bar-b-q sauce.

Seriously, Nate, that's good news. I heard about this on the radio, earlier, & I wondered what happened.

Gravatar Kudos to the pilot and everyone else involved. It's good to see there are people who can keep their wits about them in situations like that.

However...

...I prefer that the feces remain secured in the lavatory, and the turbofans continue operating cleanly, if you know what I mean.

Gravatar "I wanna know how you perform when the shit hits the fan."

There have been a few times where TSHTF in my small world.

Twice in a car, both times walked out w/o a scratch on me and in one of the situations on the car. The other time, the car did have some minor damage, nothing serious.

And once with people who were very intent on doing me bodily harm.
I will gladly admit I talked my way out of it. No begging or anything, just talked about the police, hospitals, etc. It took all of five minutes but it seemed like an hour.

Granted I was tore up, inside, about it for the next couple weeks but two guys going up against six guys is just as you said previously, "Glorious Stupids".

I am happy to say that those are the only sitatutions I've been faced with where TSHasHTF.

Although that does not stop me from continuously running TSHTF scenarios through my mind and asking myself, "What if...", "What if...".

Congrats to the Jet Blue pilots and the ATC who talked them down.

Gravatar Some people would look at that and say, "Oh my, Jet Blue has lousy planes, I'm not flying with them."

I look at it and say, "Jet Blue had a tough situation and they came through it better than anyone expected they could. Where do I buy my ticket?"

Gravatar Jet Blue Does have lousy planes and bad maintenance. They have at least one good pilot though

Gravatar Ummm..

Jet Blue has lousy planes?

Ummm... No.

JetBlue flies Air Bus exclusively. Thave have never had a crash that was related to any kind of mechanical failer. Their fleet is practicly brand new.

The Airbus lines that they fly have an excellent track record. Even if they are french.

Gravatar Thank-you Bill, for that quotable quote. I will use it on my blog to demonstrate the insanity of the Bush-hating left.

Gravatar What about the Bush Hating Right?

Gravatar How long until the first Lawsuit for big $ over this successful accident avoidance?

Gravatar JetBlue flies Air Bus exclusively. Thave have never had a crash that was related to any kind of mechanical failer. Their fleet is practicly brand new.

You talking about Jetblue, or Airbus, having a perfect record? You havent forgotten about the Airbus that crashed in NYC 4 yrs ago, have you, or do you chalk it up to terrorism?

If a "practicly brand new" plane's nose gear locks up on takeoff, either Airbus or Jetblue made a serious fukkup, which thank God the pilot was able to overcome.

Gravatar I said Jetblue has yet to have a crash that related to mechanical failure.

Compare Airbus' track record to any in the business. You'll find they stack up just fine.

Back 1999, a similar screw up took place with an airbus jet, the front landing gear locked up. It also landed safely.

To call this a "major" screw up is laughable.

The concord. That was a major screw up.
