Do you think Hilary "winning" the 2008 presidential election will wake people up, considering what her agenda is?

I think she will come right out and say the constitution should be done away with. I think she will do a lot of other extralegal things as well. In my opinion, it will be these things which will galvanize this nation against the federal government, against all organized government authority really.

Gravatar Hillery won't win. The democrats are duplicitous, but they are also ignorant. They aren't smarter than the republicans. If anything, the republicans are at least more in touch with reality than the dems are.

The dems are going to run Hillary... then they are going to have their come to Jesus moment when she gets slaughtered.

Republicans are going to continue to deny the obvious.

Gravatar You're absolutely correct, Nate, but its a mystery to me as to how to get the conflagration of biblical proportions even ignited. I've been saying for years that our enemies will attack on three fronts. The media, the educational system, and the judiciary, with Congress as the glue to hold it all together. I had been hoping that was just fantasy on my part, but I've come to see it materialize before my very eyes. The insanity of Louisiana local and state leaders responding to Hurricane Katrina isn't big enough to get it started. It would seem that something much bigger will be needed. And I suspect that things will get a lot worse before they get any better.

Gravatar This just in Fannie Mae trading at a 8 year low.

I wonder why?

Gravatar seldom do i comment but do follow vox and you, although not obsessively. you seem to reflect most of my leanings so here goes. as to new orleans, why should God not wipe this abomination clean (running water) which gloried in voodo and homosexuality. the USA does not give thanks and praise God and his son and the results of this are begining to be seen. the Lord's hand of protection has been lifted. to forecaste what is in store go to deuteronomy 28:15- to see what happens when God curses a nation. it's beyond hair raising. as for the innocents, there are none period. our Lord clearly states; "unless you repent you will all perish." this country is beyond the piont of no return. having just written that the ninivites repented at the preaching of jonah, right? anyhow that's my 2 cents.

Gravatar The children are the responsibility of the parents. If the parents are wicked then the children are shit out of luck. The children will reap the reward for the parent's sin within their lifetime.

Now, will the children also be held accountable for their parent's sin in the hereafter? I tend to think not because they hadn't reached the age of accountability when they died.

My first paragraph I'm certain of, second paragraph I'm not so sure but suspect it to be true. We will see eventually, of that I am most sure.

Gravatar AP
Your second paragraph is where Grace comes in. How it is applied however, is unknown.

Gravatar Concerning this country reaching a tipping point.

A chinese proverb can shed a little light on that. I'll paraphrase.
Once a ruler criminalizes too many things, taxes the populace mercilessly and makes the punishment for all crimes death, the peasants then have nothing to lose if they rebel. If treason and any other crime have equal consequences then why not overthrow the ruler?

I think it was Alexander Solzynitsin that said something like; once too many laws are enacted everyone becomes a criminal. The truly vast number of laws in this country exist not to punish or prevent crime but to control the populace. The more laws there are the easier it is to indict a dissenting voice of a crime. Remember, I said the NUMBER of laws is the method of control, not the laws themselves. Furthermore, I am not saying all laws should be done away with, so please don’t troll.

Once people realize that even when they do good and tow the party line the government will still treat them as an enemy combatant I think minds will start to become seriously radicalized.

Katrina is only a foretaste.

In talking to my parents recently I was surprised to learn that in watching the news about Katrina they had finally woken up to what the federal government and government in general were all about. I’m thinking that even with a steady diet of MSM news most Americans got the same message. Government is not about protecting the populace or the republic, or preserving the constitution, or even defending the country. Government is about control and garnering as much power as possible to enforce that control.

Gravatar When 50-something law-abiding, tax-paying voters starting dislikeing cops and getting skeptical of government... ya know things are about to go downhill.

Gravatar Try 60-something, former union local treasurer, law abiding, tax-paying, jury sitting, voter.

Gravatar Yup... definately going downhill.

Gravatar After all, if the entire world burned to rubble, then the entire world is equal, and equality is the most noble goal there is.

Good description of leftist stupidity. You try to build utopia, & you get hell for your efforts.

Gravatar cruft: as to new orleans, why should God not wipe this abomination clean (running water) which gloried in voodo and homosexuality.

For the titties, son. For the titties.

But for that Babylon fallen, no tears from me. Not until they send me the bill for rebuilding it.

Re: debt, burning

The debt can never, ever be repaid, so we might as well have fun with it.

1) Dance around the fire
2) Fiddle
3) Throw fiddle on the fire
4) Take out another loan
5) Buy new fiddle
6) Repeat 1-5

It is easy to rationalize. First, the dollars have no tangible value - they are not backed by gold, silver, or a bowl of beans. Second, dollars loaned by a bank never even existed prior to the loan. So, if a $100 loan is unpaid, the bank loses 100 units of no real value, which never belonged to them in the first place.

Swing yore pardner round and round...

btw, whatever happened to the Fifty-Year Jubilee? It's about 42 years overdue.
