When you think about it, there are many with vested interest, everyone from media (Katrina was a disappointment, otherwise) to feds (we want the DoD to take over) to those with flood insurance . Yeah that's called scour. Any time you have a breach of a dam or levee the critical flow is at the breach, and it causes scour, a hole at the breach from the high velocity flow.
If you want a big natural example of scour, look up the Bonneville flood from Lake Bonneville (precurser of Salt Lake). It's amazing what enough water can do.

I'm in the same boat, but am about as ready as anyone should it come to that. I hope it doesn't, but in some sick way it would be nice to have a shot at cleaning up the treasonous anti-american neighborhood. Keep your powder dry!
