Cool, I always wanted to try a bit of that, don't have an off-road bike though...
And I don't like bugs. But still, it sounds like fun, nothin but backroads, I wish I could afford to just leave work for a couple months and see how far I could get, what is it 4000 miles or something?

How can JAC invite me when he knows I have a Ninja, not a mud-cycle?

That looks like a really cool ride, man.
As close as you can probably get to "exploring" today.

Here's how it works, MM:
When I invite you it is your burden to be able to go. I'll keep askin' so you start too feel guilty and buy a dual sport.

Nah, I'd go sport touring first before street legal dirt. Maybe one of these so I can do all three?

The 1200 Adventure has been ridden all over the world, but there's a lot of places it won't go. Ruts are common off-road and I have seen 'em with the tires in a rut and those jugs on the ground. Folks have ridden some of the TAT on 'em, but not much.
I tend to think of it as more of an eXtremely capable sport tourer.

yeah.. the GS is fine for the Dempster Highway... but for the TAT? Not so much.
