OK, how does the GPS receiver die on them? I can see it running out of batteries, but why would it die?

Yeah, once I dropped a cellphone in the toilet of a hotel room. Yes, it was a clean toilet with nothing in there other than the phone.
I put it out in the car for half a day to dry it out, and it worked just fine. Still does, too.

Don't know what's goin' on with the GPS, Astro. It's an old Garmin GPS III+ and has given many years of faithful service in all conditions. I'm gonna disassemle it and take a look. It's up and running off and on. Bizarre.
