Ride the ski lift in Red River (it's open all year round).
Check out the Indian market around the court square in Santa Fe.
Visit the Pueblo village in Taos.
Puye cliff dwellings.
And there's a few dozen places I like to hike around the enchanted circle area; Angle Fire, Red River, Rainbow Lake, Wheeler Peak, Baldy.
Chimayo is kinda cool, for an hour at least.

$\"Gravatar\"$ I hate to argue about stuff nobody cares about, but what the heck. The rough road is probably rough not because it is concrete, but because of the poor soil underneath it. We have some concrete interstates here. They hold up pretty good on the east side of the state, but on the west side, where the soil is bad, they get real rough. And the asphalt roads aren't any better.

$\"Gravatar\"$ Holli, Spirographs, etch-a-sketches, books and Ipods or some kind of way for them to listen to audiobooks or music through earbuds is how my hubby and I got through car trips with kids. You still have to stop once in a while though if you don't have the RV like Nate does for them to run off a little steam.

$\"Gravatar\"$ Thanks Susan. I was really thinking how Nate didn't have any pics yet and thinking that's a really long time for those boys to be cooped up in a vehicle. Anyway, Josh assures me that the RV is big enough to play football and race monster trucks in, so apparently there's nothing to worry about! LOL

We've been able to time it so that we start a DVD when we back out of the driveway and by the time it's over we're at the first rest stop. Everyone gets out to stretch legs and use the facilities and then it's time for movie #2. When that's over, we're at my parents house in San Antonio.

My kids are pretty good travelers all things considered. 2 are pre-readers and the third gets carsick if she stares at a book. Bummer, cause I wouldn't be able to travel if I couldn't have my books or sewing or something!
