What caliber was the handgun?
Sounds like he was fooling around, probably cheating on his girlfriend as well as his wife, he was probably going to leave her, so she shot him, then shot herself. What's wrong with this scenario?
5 shots. 5 hits. From a girl who's never fired a gun before. BS. No spray and pray. No misses. 2 chest. 2 head. 1 in her own head. 3 of the shots that hit McNair were from across the room.
They also aren't releasing the caliber of the weapon found there or mentioning any shell casing found.
There is a lot of standard information that usually released that is not being released right now. Also... the cops have said that evidence was moved around before they got there.

If she did it, she would'a emptied the weapon into him, and probably shot him square in the face, or emptied a few clips into his chest - all depends on her emotional state.
well... the 4th shot into McNair was right against his temple. So it was damned sure personal.
But the 5 for 5 aspect just shows to much control and calm skill to me.
Plus... 2 in the chest... 1 in the head.
With an additional shot into the head for good measure.

Honour killing? She was Iranian and possibly had muslim male relatives who wouldn't have liked any of this.
The honor killing aspect is the elephant in the room.
There is a rumor that the room was literally sprayed with bullets. far more than just 5 shots and from more than one weapon.
Its possible that the whole thing has been staged to conceal the honor killing.

It sounds like McNair was in a constant state of physical pain. So I am not sure if he would be able to react as fast. I agree it is fishy that he took so many hits. The girl may not have been a rookie shooter either, she may have had prior gun experience.
A couple of comments.
Could the evidence have been moved by the girl before she shot herself?
Could he have figured that she didn't have the guts to shoot him, and tried to talk his way out? Perhaps she shot him while he was sleeping or something.
Sure hope she was a tiger in the sack cuz those pics don't look like it'd be worth cheating on your wife for.
If it was an honour killing, I hope it comes out. Maybe we can start having a rational discussion about our idiotic Mooslim importation policies.
We don't know he was cheating on his wife Mike. They were in the process of divorcing and there is such a thing as legal seperation.
That does keep her as the prime suspect.
... Oh, nevermind. That rule only applies if the Husband survives after his wife is brutally killed at her new boyfriend's apartment.

Dr. Who: Didn't know he was divorcing. I haven't been reading much on the topic. I just did a quick news search to see what she looked like.
Not likely an honor killing. She previously lived with her other boyfriend for 4 years. Not much honor left to be worth killing over.
Her ex-BF was questioned because he is a likely suspect.
Not neccessarily divorcing. Nothing filed. Just a tale he told the girlfriend. Makes the wife look more likely. Now she gets 100% + life insurance.
The story of the gun being bought by the girl is also unverifiable. All they have is one of her cousins' word for it.
The police are not calling it "murder suicide" because they can't find a motive. Hmmm. Young girl in a love triangle with married rich athlete. Nope. No motive there.
If only Tennessee had a ban on 20 year old girls from owning handguns, this man would be alive today. Those barbarians and their gun-death culture.

I have no idea what the evidence is or isn't. But that five out of five thing is cause for red flags. Police officers from firearms training units always say they shot poorly when in the fight. Hits become rare. Everyone shoots badly when the balloon goes up and people who have never fired a gun before can't even run the gun.
Safeties remain on and they can't find the strength and coordination to rack the slide on autos (this is the reason that many cops still urge people to use wheel guns for home defense). Then there's the issue of where the hits are located.
When the shooting starts few can change the point of impact. They focus on one area (if the suspect has a gun in his hand that's where the focus goes) and continually shoot until way after they're empty. He's shot in the torso with one to the head? Sounds slightly professional to me.
That brings us to the suicide. It's rare for someone without a lot of training not to run the gun empty under stress. So, did she reload to shoot herself? In most murder suicides the shooter doesn't off themselves until several hours after the shooting. Adrenaline dump causes shooters to go comatose for an hour or so. Then they call someone and say good-bye. It's very rare they do the deed immediately after shooting the victim.
I realize that there's a lot of "common" behavior in my assertions and she may not be common. It just seems suspicious.

You're correct, but there is precedent and it almost always involves husband/boyfriend and occasionally children. Even then they don't do it quickly. They usually flee the scene, call relatives, and then drive somewhere out of the way.
However, a cop friend of mine just pointed out that in Muslim cultures suicide amongst women is common... with casual assistance (like pulling the trigger) from "family". They have three 'suspicious" suicides under investigation in Sacramento alone.
He told an amusing story about arresting an Indian who tried to pour gasoline on his daughter and light her on fire. Neighbors stopped him. When he arrived on the scene the Indian father insisted his daughter had tried to commit suicide. "The minute she chose that boy over her family she committed suicide."
BTW, I'm not convinced this was an honor killing. It's just a possibility. An equally good possibility is he was involved in something criminal and paid for it with several bullets to the torso and one to the head (that doesn't sound like an honor killing. I can't find it in the Koran). The Muslim thing is a fine cover. I have no idea what happened but the murder-suicide theory seems less likely than anything else I can think of. Every question the investigators ask is likely done with a raised eye brow. You won't catch them believing a word anyone says at this point.
If it wasn't her, it had to be a member of her Iranian family. Unless McNair was passed out, stoned, on the couch, the shooter had to be someone he knew & had no reason to keep his guard up -- in HIS house.
As for the 5-for-5 Josie Wales shooting, once the first temple shot was scored on an unsuspecting McNair, the next 3 were leisure shots. If the shooter was non-family (pissed off business partner, pro assassin, pissed off roofie boyfriend), the chick would have run for cover or made at least a pitiable chicklike defense. If she thought an Iranian 'honor' killing might be coming, she might have submitted to it.
BTW, was her previous boyfriend black? That might be the "honor" angle with McNair. Did her cousin vote for O8ama?
It could also be, that she was a bipolar stone-cold bitch with Prestone in her veins.
Prestone can be ruled out if she did herself. Passion/adrenaline don't fit with fine shooting. It smells more and more of a pro.
I have a couple of points to make.
First off, just subtract two from the 5 for 5 statement as 2 of them are point blank shots. This is easy to believe that most anyone could make this shot. Even a disturbed 20 year old women could do it.
As for the remaining 3 shots. They were still pretty close range(3 feet as I understand). Again, that's not hard to believe.
I'm really not being sarcastic here but why do you guys think it would be so difficult for a rookie to make these shots?

says is information commonly immediately released.

That's how she was able to get shots off without struggle from McNair.
OK. Then we have to assume he was sleeping on his back so she would have to stand over him to score the chest wounds. Wouldn't they also be point blank or closer than 3 foot shots?
I think there is something fishy also but I don't understand why you all think it's so difficult for a novice to score such hits at close range. Hell, shooting fish in a barrel would be more difficult.
