Ooooh, I love the Carmen yarn! And the Pierre tale. You know, RB is currently across the desks from me, learning french from a CD. He sounds rather silly at this point - but let's hope he doesn't also learn how to dance (not that he's as striking or young as dear Pierre).

Any particular sock pattern in mind?

Gravatar I LOVE the socks! Carmen ay? Did you ever watch the MTV remake with Beyonce? It was a ghetto opera LOL

Gravatar Oh, thank you for the Pierre picture and story -- I love hearing those kind of family histories. And he is a handsome devil, is he not? Anyway, I like the Carmen yarn too, looks like it'll knit up beautifully. And congrats with all the finishing! I should take your cue and finish a few things myself.

Gravatar Your Carmen yarn looks wonderful as well as all the rest of your FO's. I love the Pierre story - as you know everything Opera is close to my heart - and Carmen is my Fav. opera - I actually embroidered a scene from it in HS - I'll have to bring it on Friday to show you.

Gravatar wonderful post! i love those kinda family tales, all the skeletons in the closet. great stuff.

your socks, by the way, are WONDERFUL! no wonder they caught the eye of that homeless man. ; )

Gravatar I love the story abotu Pierre - I can see from the photo why those ladies were so interested in taking care of him!

Gravatar you've completely inspired me to do some dying. think I might copy the idea of the dying party at some point.

though i'm sure its only one step from leaning to spin and my entire life being taken over by fiber arts.

(back to the phd...)

Gravatar Okay, I want those socks, and I want that hat. So cool!!

Gravatar great story! And i love your new FOs...

Gravatar Love your vesper socks! Did one whole skein make your knee highs? I doubt I'd get a pair of knee highs with my fatty calves. Those look awesome. Did I tell you they're awesome? And the Ester Williams, hate? Ca-yooot!

Gravatar Oo la la Pierre! Exciting bit of family history there. Love the Carmen colorway. And your hat is fabulous. I think you passed your ADD along to me...

Gravatar Carmen is lovely. i love your Esther Williams hat. looks really chic on you.

Gravatar i love esther williams! the color suits you perfectly. did you use real dyes for carmen, or (gasp!) kool-aid?

Gravatar I also love love esther! That hat really looks wonderful on you, and those socks (and that picture!) are great, too. So nice to see as I've been feeling quite uninspired in my knitting lately.

Gravatar Your hat is gorgeous! Good job! I'm glad you liked the pattern. Best, Laura

Gravatar jolie tête, jolis pieds...
mais vraiment alors, j'adore!
