Wow! I am jealous of all that yarn you have. 
I joined this, too! It's going to be kind of exciting to knit some of the pretty yarns I've been stashing.
hahaha, so it took a reorg of the stash to get you to join! sometimes going through the stash, though, is like re-shopping for yarn.. rediscovering all the great stuff that you love. welcome to the club i can't wait to see what you make of all of it!

i was too embarrissed to admit how much yarn i had - in particular yarn that was allocated for projects. you have made me feel better. put it this way...we are not too dissimilar in the number of sweaters waiting to get on the needles.

Looks like gleek may have persuaded you . . enough yarn for 26 sweaters? I'd say definitely knitting from stash. I have alot, but maybe enough for 12-13 sweaters, which is still a ton for me and then enough laceweight to hurt someone and sock yarn for days, probably enough for 25+ pair.
26 sweaters? Lady, that's a lot of yarn. I don't think I have enough patience over the course of the rest of my lifetime to knit 26 sweaters. I'd definitely join. I'd love to see the sweaters you're planning from your own designs too!

I just put myself on a yarn diet that I have been thinking about for the last couple months. Maybe I should join too and try for the 9 months. I did some inventory and didn't think to break down my yarn the way you did (i.e. 26 sweaters) but surely I have more than enough to knit from for about 3-5 years. Good luck!
hee hee - I am so doing that this year. I have to knock down my sock yarn stash before MD festival this year!

the first step is admitting that you have a problem!
i think you should join but make up a few modifications, like you can buy yarn if you get a fabulous idea for a design. it's just not fair to the yarn to let it all sit there!
All of 2007 - that's going to be pretty tough, even with all that yarn. I might have to join on a quarterly basis. As you can tell, I'm not doing so well with the resolutions this year.
By the way, I love the mittens and the lesson on yarn dominance.

Haha, awesome. Everytime someone says "ohhh, my stash is so big!" I just roll my eyes. I worked at Webs for over a year and have enough yarn for literally ten years of knitting. I'm glad to see that someone else has a TRULY respectable stash =)

yep. I'm with you. I'm seeing this idea everywhere and it's starting to seep in. So far, I've only bought a few skeins of sock yarn. Off to a good start. I haven't made it real by blogging yet. I'm not quite ready to go THAT public with the plan!
