Oh, yes, that cabled jacket is delicious and I can only imagine how much the Malabrigo raises the yum quotient. Beautiful stitch definition in that back cable.

that vogue sweater is really cute.... but wait! does the pattern call for knitting the sleeves short-rowed, top-down?? because in the photo you scanned, it looks like that sleeve on the right has the same weird sleeve cap line i keep getting on jarrett...
re: the fig tree in brooklyn, it reminds me of an interesting article i read in NY magazine about some guy who started an entire farm in his backyard, in brooklyn: http://nymag.com/restaurants/fea...features/37273/

Glad you're knitting again! What a great pattern choice, too. I will have to check out the ones on Ravelry. Hang in there with the 300+ stitches, it will be worth it

Nice yarn, too.

Ooh this promises to be a real beauty.
Thanks for the advice re the cast on - I tried it and mangled it but I think that is more due to my dodgy technique with the magic looping! I shall get there one way or another :o)

God that is a lovely pattern. I love the back! I wish it was diffrently shaped in front though so I could knit it, but with my shape it would only lay outside the bubbies not over them.
Lovely color! Mmmm I want cake now

The cake looks wonderful. A dab of creme fraiche on top and it is ready to eat.
I like the sweater too. I am going to have to go back through my copy of Vogue and look at it again.

Beautiful, perfect cables! Though I will miss your sewing a little bit -- just until next summer, I hope.
I've had that cake on the brain, too, but unfortunately don't know a single person with a fig tree. Imagine that. : )

I think those are Japanese knitting pins. They come in packs of 10 and are great for pinning pieces together for seaming.

You know, the only problem I have with More Than Yarn is, actually, the fact that (as you pointed out) "most of their stock is on sale." If you read their fine print, there are no returns on items on sale. No wonder everything is 'on sale.' Just a thought.
