Gravatar According to WWL, 80% of the city is underwater, up to 20 feet deep

Gravatar Karen, get the evacuation going NOW, do not wait. The water will not go away. If you move them all, and it turns out to be a false alarm, then
they are still alive and well. If you wait too long, you will not have the choice to make in the future.

Gravatar Both airports are under, the yatch club is gone, water is still entering, houses have broken off their foundations and are floating free.

Gravatar Karen was saying most of TU Hospital's patients are in critical condition.

Gravatar For those of us who don't know New Orleans, could you find a map, or gin one up? On Google Maps, I can find a couple of 17th Streets, but where is the canal and where is it breached? Where's the 9th Ward, and the other flooded areas? ...Or maybe it's getting easier to show the unflooded areas? :-(

Gravatar Mike - 17th St. is near the intersection of Veterans Highway and Lake Avenue. May be in the city of Metairie on Google maps.

9th Ward...look up Almonaster Blvd and look between there and Lakefront Airport. That whole area is underwater and it's rising

Gravatar Sorry...I meant that comment for Bill Woods...a little shaken right now.

Gravatar No worries. I'm completely untrained as a reporter, just feeding into the BLL news outlet while Brendan has to do things like edit his home page's html in order to actually post updates, so it's not like I'm looking for a byline. This is an incredibly unfortunate time to be having technical problems with the blog; thankfully, Brendan types quite fast and has dealt with html for years.
