Lieberman will vote to confirm, I am sure, which will just give more ammunition to the Dump Joe crowd.
Really, the Democrats ought to form a united front and unanimously confirm the guy. They might as well -- it's clear he's going to get through -- and if they did it unanimously, moderates like Lieberman wouldn't be hung out to dry, the "obstructionist Democrats" meme would become less believable, and they'd have a good sound bite to use if Bush subsequently appoints someone more radical. And most importantly, it would be an excellent baby step toward declaring a bit of independence from some of the far-left interest groups whose overly inflated influence is choking the party and preventing it from adopting a platform that the majority of Americans might actually accept.

Moderate? A MODERATE? You have to be fucking kidding me. Lieberman's nothing more that another cultural conservative that wants to tell me (and you, for that matter) what we can and cannont do, all in the name of "protecting the familty." Music, video games, television. Hell, the asshole actually sat on the advisory board of Brent Bozell's Parent's Television Council. A moderate? I'm ashamed to be in the same party as this guy (Hillary too, for that matter.) With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Just a thought, but ...
Why is it that the Dems seem to be the party-of-choice for commenters so proud of their ideas that they comment anonymously ?
Some of us other (ahem) are *able* to post anonymously due to our sublime computer skills, but we usually notice eventually and make ourselves obviously who we are ... (blush) ... but folk like Anon seem proud to be hiding their identity ...

I always got the impression that "Anon" was one guy, as opposed to a cabal of Democrats intent on keeping their identities hidden.
