Every so often the news is good. They found this creep and let's hope they make an example of him and put him in jail forever. Does Canada do a better job of keeping their criminals in jail?

Not all of them, Melissa. And remember, the investigation began a few years ago when the photos were found online. So he probably could face prosecution in Canada if he uploaded the images from there.
several years ago Canada passed a law permitting Canadian citizens to be prosecuted in Canada for sex crimes committed outside of the country. The purpose was to ensure that Canadian "sex tourists" could be brought to justice if their activities abroad would be recognized as crimes in Canada (ie homosexual sex is a crime in some countries, but obviously would not be prosecuted in Canada because it's not a crime here. I think it also recognizes that sometimes local law enforcement abroad is not able to do the job and I think the government wanted to ensure that Canadian citizens would receive a trial with all the hallmarks of "fairness" that we would expect in the west. I think the whole thing was as a result of a push from either the UN or Interpol. I believe several other countries have enacted similar legislation.
This guy has injured Thai children so let him first face Thai justice, which hopefufully is highly unpleasant. Then he can face charges in any other jurisdiction whose children he raped. Remember, some think that Karr made his JonBenet confession plea to evade Thai justice. Maybe Thai justice first, followed by justive by other states and nations, is just what these pervs need.
This is another one that really really got to me! Yet another freekin teacher ruining the good names of not only my husband, but all of those that are dedicated to "teaching" the very children that will inherit this world. DISGUSTING! So many innocent lives forever changed at the hands of ANOTHER evil perverted pedophile!!!
My biggest hope, other than this disgusting waste of skin being eliminated in the most inhumane way possible (and I know that will not happen here in the States or Canada), but that the authorities will be able to identify some, if not all, of the children he has victimized. They need help, their families need help in helping them, and my worst fear would be that the once innocent missed ones will in some way contribute to this type of violence if not helped.
I am so relieved he has been apprehended, and will no longer be acting as a teacher of any subject, muchless walking amongst other potential victims!
He was found after they tracked 'ohm's' mobile phone.
It is alleged that he and Neil had travelled into different provinces apparently on the run.
He was found in a boarding house in rural Nakhon Ratchasima, 250klm from Bangkok and well of the tourist trail.
It was Germany who found the images and both the Cambodian and Vietnamese authorities are also investigating as he is accused of raping boys in both countries a few years ago.
Canada has not yet stated whether they will consider extraditing him yet.

Well, that's the point: it just "sounds"... And 'till there is a fair, court-held (and not by INTERPOL, they're just cops) trial, which will determine the exact charges against C.N. and determine the extent of his guilt, people should stay with their impressions.
I feel absolutely no sympathy for this guy. But that doesn't give me (or to other people) the right to lynch him. We aren't beasts, are we ?

There are a lot of crimes that aren't murder, but are just as heinous. Child rape is one of them. You can always claim self-defense when it comes to murder. There's no excuse for sexually assaulting/abusing/exploiting children.
The worst part of it all for me...is hearing about our US VERMIN heading to points east to do their dirty work.
That ALONE shows the depravity of being a pedophile (imo), and also shows our "turf-it-off" response.
Not only are our criminal systems turning out high risk offenders...but they also are letting these people loose to travel where-ever and when-ever they want (with shoddy reporting systems to boot). We are poisoning not just OUR OWN community...but rather the community at large!

Let this incident remind us or make us aware that there are thousands of girl children slaves in brothels being used by Canadian and other sex tourists. While the thai police were very willing and diligent in this case, there are many police in Thailand who ignore and perpetuate the prostitution of children. This includes pedophilic sex and rape.
In Korea there are so many gays, homosexsuals, alcoholics, criminals they are dime a dozen, in this countries they never bother to check the background when they apply to work with the children.
