I just got home from jury duty for the first time in my life. I was picked as one of the original 12 to be a juror for Heather's case. I do not watch the news or read newspapers, so I had never heard anything about this case. I have little knowledge of legal proceedings. If you've ever done jury duty, you know that the lawyers on both sides have the opportunity to ask you questions to get an idea of your personalities to ensure they have the best chances of getting your vote to win. I make it sound political, but that is how it seemed to me today. The state rep was professional and direct, no hinting at what was to come, at least not that I realized at first. Then, Mr. Bean's attorney asked questions that just did not make sense to me at first... he asked things like "would you kill to defend yourself if you were being attacked with a weapon?" and "do you agree that the state has the responsibility to prove each charge (murder being the first and dismembering the body the second) as separate charges?"... this second one was what puzzled me so I kept thinking about it and finally realized what the slimball was getting at and spoke up: "You are trying to ask us if we think that IF your client is found guilty by proof that he dismembered this woman's body, can we still find him not-guilty for murder--is that what you are asking us?" He said yes and wanted to know my opinion. I said that I could see someone being horrified by an accidental murder and trying to hide what they had done by burying or hiding the body, but if they were to do what you are saying (chainsaw chopping and burning the victim), I have a really hard time seeing how this person didn't mean to murder in the first place." So, needless to say, I was dismissed. So, I put it all together, the questions the state prosecutor asked about abuse and the slimy defense attorney's questions about separating two heinous acts and realized that this poor girl was probably beaten by Mr. Bean, he eventually killed her (or maybe she was even trying to protect herself or saw killing him as the only way out and he killed her instead), and now he was going to try to say he was just protecting himself and then cut her up and burned her to hide his horrible mistake. I look at your site and find I wasn't too far off base, especially for having no media tip-off prior to my horrible courtroom visit today. I'm angry that I am dismissed and cannot help this woman receive justice. I want to know the outcome of the trial I was dismissed from being a jury member of.

Five years ago I was with Josh every day. He always said I was the only girl he had never gotten into an arguement with. We never had anything other than a friendship, THANK GOD. But, I brought so many people around this psychopath and even let my best friend of thirteen years date this man. Me and Heather became closer seeing that I dated Pablo Quintana's ( her next door neighbor ) 's best friend, and she was with Josh. Josh was always a little on the weird side, but I only saw him violent once. He had a bad drug problem... This is very scary how someone could go on as if nothing happened. Heather was an amazing person and my prayers go out to her and her family. We all truly miss this girl!
