Unreal. After all the BS his federal defense lawyers were claiming just within the last month......I hope he fries!

Lord, I remember stumbling across your site on the day Shasta was found, and then in the months afterwords finding out things that I never ever wanted to even know about.

Like I said in the Cellar, hopefully this is him committing suicide finally. No pleas.

Not sure if it is because I live over in these parts and this horrid, completely unreal crime was way to close to me and my family, but Duncan somehow penetrated my brain! For some reason, it actually made me feel better after reading how this too affected Mr. Huff (of all people). I could not get this monster out of my head, nor get a grasp on what he did to this family, nor stop reading and re-reading his very disturbing blog (including many of the sickos that left comments)!!! Nightmares, waking-up in complete cold sweat, crying or tearing-up out of the clear blue (no matter where I was), etc. Honestly, NOTHING has ever affected me that personally, nor have I ever had nightmares as intensely in my entire life! In fact, my husband ordered me to STOP reading anything about him ~ I just could not get the horror these poor babies endured at the hands of the demon, the family of three within the house knowing he was after the little ones, young Slade being beaten so badly, but still able to make it outside, etc. He has got to be one of the most evil monsters of my time ~ equally as evil as Dahmer in my opinion.

Not sure I will even feel safe with him in prison ~ he needs to be removed from this planet!!! Not a single day has gone by that I have not prayed for the Groene and McKenzie families, and always say a special prayer that dear Shasta will somehow be the strongest person known for having overcome what she's been through ~ no one could even imagine, and for her dear father that has been left with one child, whom truly "has seen it all" ~ that poor man!

Another case I wish the POS would not get life, as I know his existence would be extinguished in normal prison population, where I actually believe those with life sentences should be! He should be at the mercy of the worst of the worst this world has to offer, and hope he somehow ends-up just like Dahmer!

Thanks Mr. Huff for sharing your personal feelings in addition to the news!

I'm not sadistic, a psychopath, or even a violent man, but I can honestly say that I would derive some satisfaction out of having 10 minutes alone with this monster.

Yes, monster about sums it up, Steve. I can't think of a better descriptive word for such vile inhuman filth.

Reading your original coverage of the crime and all of the other links you provided was probably one of the most heart wrenching things I have ever put myself through.

Not ashamed to say that I shed some tears for those children and that family.

I felt really sad when his brother died.

This has been too long coming. All this time manipulating and conniving and now he will plead guilty. He could have done that a year ago. Since they are scheduling a sentencing trial, this is hardly over. Unless something startling happens on Monday, I am not moved by this action. This has always been about if he would get the death penalty and nothing seems to have changed in that regard. They've just streamlined the process.

I was wondering what happens to Duncan's appeals if he pleads guilty and gets the the death sentence?

Well, C.R, let's hope the monster dies!

Compass, I do believe there have been OTHER creeps who have pleaded guilty, and gotten death, AND their appeals were NOT successful. I'll have to look for links.

I agree that this is Duncan's way of trying to manipulate they system, and what is going to happen. I'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall of his lawyers' offices.

I have not doubt that 12 normal citizens will sentence him to death. There are NO mitigating circumstances - you know that they WANT to use his years of incarceration as a mitigator (nevermind that his own actions put him there.) This case is a turkey, and I can't imagine why his lawyers took it (I still think she wanted the case and it wasn't just assigned to her.)

Good. I'm glad he's pleading guilty - save Shasta and her family some grief and save the taxpayers a boatload of money.

As far as I'm concerned, he's already gone and has been gone - a non-entity.

He kept Shasta's brother alive for such a long time and then murdered him... horrible. Capital punishment was meant for people like Duncan. It's only too bad keelhauling is out (that's being tied to ropes and pulled along the bottom of a ship from one side to the other so you are scraped to death by barnacles while you drown, by the way).

The POS pleaded guilty to all 10 counts, no deal with the prosecution. Let's pray for the death penalty.

What I find disturbing is that they still have not goten access to Duncans computer files.

My Family and I think Duncan murdered our son/brother in North Dakota In 2002, untill we see those files we may never know for sure if he is our guy. Because of the ongoing gag order we have been stonewalled in our requests for information. I also still need a contact within the F.B.I. Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. I have little faith in the North Dakota B.C.I.

Any help anyone could give in contacting the F.B.I. Vicap Unit would be greatly appreciated. Duncan has made claims in his blog that he got even with society but was never caught. He could be refering to murdering Russell Turcotte

I would welcome e-mail from those wishing to help in any way. Thanks

There is extensive discussion about Russell at the Cellar William. Follow Steve's link to the blog.

This comment is for Mellisa, I am not sure how to get to get to the cellar. Please send me that info. thanx WJT watcheseagle@mtintouch.net

William:

Here is the link to The Cellar, if you still need it: http://jetd63.blogspot.com

One of the most comprehensive news sources I have run across is the SpokesmanReview: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/s...ections/duncan/

Another good source of news is the Coeur d'Alene Press, which is local (not near as informative as the SpokesmanReview): http://www.cdapress.com/

I would not be surprised in the least if a reporter at the SpokesmanReview would not take interest in your story and run with it. At a minimum, maybe they could help you locate the information you are seeking.

Good luck to you and yours!
