I too remember that case as if it were yesterday. I was in high school at that time and remember reading every news article and hoping someone would solve this case or wondering if it would be another unsolved Nashville case like the murder of Kathy Jones.

I don't remember if it panned out or not but I remember reading about a "bushy-haired man" maybe in a white car that was a person of interest that might have been seen talking to Marcia before she disappeared. I wondered if that could have been the same man that exposed himself earlier?

Secondly, another thing I remember and I find odd, I remember that the neighborhood was sealed off and only persons living there could go in and out. Then there was a call from a female stating articles of clothing that might have been Marcia's were found in, I think it was Edwin Warner or Percy Warner, Park. That turned out to be a dead end but did the police leave the neighborhood to go look in that park? i.e., did they temporarily open the neighborhood, and could the body have been moved then?

These are not questions that I have the answer to, but I am curious. I have often thought that perhaps she was killed and/or kept in the neighborhood the whole time with no way to move the body until the phone call made and the police temporarily moved out. Of course, if they never left their post, then my theory would be incorrect.

I most certaintly would not want to give out false information about the so called "Marcia Trimble Case", but I will tell you what I do know. As I read the only other comment that was left from this blog I saw that it says:

I do not have the answers to his/her[that commenter]'s questions, but I do know something that may,[or may not], help him/her[that commenter] know more about the subject that he has questions about..

I happen to know someone[I would not like to give out names] that happened to very close with Marcia and her family. This person was good friends with Marcia's brother, and this person's sister happened to be in Marcia's girl scout troop, and was friends with Marcia, as well.
This person did not see Marcia the day of her disappearance, but,[being a friend of her brother], helped look for Marcia that night. Him, Marcia's brother, and a police officer happened to look in the shed[that Marcia's body was later found in about a month later] that night, and did not see any sign of Marcia in that shed.
Now, unless that shed was not searched well enough by those three[and i'm sure many others looked in that place also], Marcia's body would have had to of been somewhere else the night of her disapearace, and then later placed in the shed.

The search of the shed bothers me. If searching did not start till 7:30pm in February there was certainly total darkness and I'm sure the shed was not lighted? Did this searching just consist of an obliqatory flashlight search to check or was the shed entered and everything turned about?

It also seems the dog would have been in the area of Marcia if she had originally been there.

I was an 8-year-old girl living in the neighborhood at the time Marcia was kidnapped, and even though I didn't know her personally, Peggy Morgan and Jeffrey Womack babysat for my brother and me. The incident changed my life forever. Not a single February 25 has passed that I don't remember. I am glad that the case has now been solved. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marcia's family. I know that there is some relief in this for them and for all of us who were affected by it, but at the same time, a re-opening of old wounds that have never completely healed.

I was a 9 year old boy who lived in the area in the 70's and my Parents knew of Charles & Viginina Trimble but they weren't friends. I knew their son Chuck well and we were friends off and on through the years. The whole bell mead area back then was all white and still is today and I think that if anyone saw a black man around the area if they weren't at gedas nursery then they would take notice and if he had a little white girl with him then they would freak. That is what has puzzled me all these years how if barrett is the killer of Marcia how in the hell did he get her in Thorps shed where she was found. there are a lot of weird things that don't add up in the case and I hope some day we all will know the answers. I'm just a simple man and I don't know everything but I'm not 100% sure barrett killed Marcia. one thing I'm sure of is that Jeffrey Womack had nothing to do with the case. well when barrett dose go to trial and if he did kill Marcia then I hope there is justice served.

We're talking baout a 9 yr old!!!!!!Who sends a child anywhere alone anymore? Maybe back then things seemed a little more safer but obviously it really wasnt a safe neighborhood if there was older men masturbating when these kids were walking the neighborhood. This is the perfect example that there really isnt such a thing as "Safe" anymore which is very very sad!! When i first read about this case i was a mess! My heart goes out the this poor family. Im so sorry. Justice will be served and whoever this asshole is will get their's and plenty more!
