How awful. This one leaves me almost speechless.
After a certain point you have to wonder if the human species is not fundamentally flawed. I can understand, to some degree, brutal acts of tribal warfare - a major hallmark, if not THE hallmark of our existence on earth, but just look at the past couple of pieces on this site- so selfish and cruel. I try not to vent out a comment like this because it goes with out saying and doesn't really contribute to any kinda dialogue but sometimes it's all I can say.

This case will resolve only with great police work and people relating to police.
One of the the first people who came across them was an ex-cop and it is my undertanding he blew it off after feeling an "uneasy" feeling while seeing her alive and well. It is reported he also took evidence later and moved it to another location. (Does that mean what evidence was found is now inadmissable in court?)
The other evidence they have gathered should place this person responsible for her kidnapping and eventual death. It is horrific. In my opinion, he stalked her.
It begs to question, "How many times he had done this before?"
He has developed a certain level of security to kidnap a woman after he knows he has been seen with her a few times during the day.
Who is this stranger that can take people in the wild and kill them? We need to concentrate on who he used to be to find out who he is.
Where is Meredith? I think only he can tell us at this point, as she could be from Vogel to Canton on the backroads.
From what they have recovered so far, I think he kept her alive for a few days. Where did he keep her and why? I think his motive is not sexual, but monetary. He deemed her to be a person with cash he could get from her ATM or other places. He tried the ATM and as far as they tell us, it was unsuccessful. We don't know this to be true.
It still appears as a kidnapping/robbery/murder to me.

My own opinion is that he wasn't really going to eat her - most people who are in a psychotic break (enough to think cannibalism is a good idea) don't call the cops to taunt them. I really think that beyond his excuse for murder, he probably thinks that by dismembering her, he'll lock in an insanity defense. Not really a good move, especially in Texas.

Prayers to her family and friends ... I cannot even begin to understand this, and can only hope that they can get though this with the love and support of family and friends. I have just returned from one of Hilton's killing fields. The garbage dump and clothes that I reported to the Dawson Co. Sheriff's Department, has been removed. I have been checking on a daily basis. There is some K9s in the field where Hilton held Meredith. They say they are not LE.
I have found two more burial grounds. One grave alone has 18+ bodies in it.
