VERy creepy! I'm glad you provided the pic of Marcia. What a cute little girl! How horrific a thing to preoccupy your young mind. I'm sure most of us have similar tales which kept us awake at night...
Sadly, this will probably never be solved, but hopefully she knows, somehow, that you (and others) are keeping her name and face out there, and may whomever murdered her NEVER rest in peace!
There is nothing scarier than a murder never solved!

OMG! She looks eerily like Marcia! When I pulled up the link, before I read the date - I thought it must have happened at the same time. Why does it make it worse that they look alike? It's horrible, awful beyond imagining really, no matter what any of these lost little girls look like. Sad, sad, sad. Do something Super Crime Blogger! Get the bad guys! Peace, my friend. -M

Are there other connections elsewhere? Other girls who have disappeared like this?
Is anyone tracking the stats, locations, dates, etc. behind the disappearances of children? I was almost a statistic many years ago. It makes a difference.

Good news video with map of Jodi's neighborhood included and cemetery footage included:

could be nothing but the things that bother me are the fact she was found in a cemetery and she was wearing all black right down to her socks, i know lots of kids wear all black and doesn't mean anything, same with hanging out in cemeteries but was also close to Halloween- i'm thinking outloud i guess- i get the feeling LE is hoping the other neighborhood children may know something

My guess is that Jodi was murdered by a neighborhood teen. Then again there is a little missing blonde girl, Britney Beers taken in 1997 from very near there.

I hesitate to say this, but I get a really hinky feeling from this case. It was NEVER an Amber Alert (not that they all are), but it hasn't even been in our news in two days and I find it really strange that the mother found her.
Nothing I can put my finger on at the moment, but I hope they catch whomever did this, and soon.

Me, too, Soobs. Something has not felt right to me, either.
The mother finding her bothers me, but without knowing anything more about the case, other than what was on msm yesterday, I can't substantiate my feelings with any factual info.

Steve you wrote "My and my friend's responses to Jodi's image, to her tragedy, prove that we carry ghosts with us wherever we go. They are like bells in our hearts, tuned to certain frequencies, and they ring sometimes when we were on the verge of believing we were no longer haunted."
I doubt that the haunt ever goes away. Decades later I still remember the fear and the questions - heck I still have them and the ghost. I think you and I and Button always will.
Nana comments about Jodi's mother. I agree something doesn't add up. It gets dark now (since the time change) around 5:15/ 5:30. Jodi was all in black and from what I have read there is still no released information "clearly exposing" foul play. I state it that way because obviously healthy little girls don't just die. My first thought was poison or something of that nature. The fact that her mom found her is also disturbing. Makes me question. And then I think about Mrs. Trimble and our friends who were questioned and innocent...
All of this makes me so sad on so many levels. Living in both areas/ neighborhoods doesn't help either...

I can imagine the mom had a flashlight and saw her blonde hair. This cemetery is very close to her home. I would be more concerned about a mom who sat home and didn't look for her daughter.

I just spoke to my son tonight. He lives near Constantine. He just heard that now a boy is missing in Constantine. He finds it alarming that no Amber Alert has been made, but the news is on all the police scanners.

Please keep us posted on the missing boy, Pam. I couldn't find it on the South Bend TV websites.
We have lots of family in the area, including a blonde ten-year-old niece. We used to live in Sturgis and my husband lived in Constantine as a child.
This one has me spooked.

"The thing is, parents in the area had been on alert for a while. There'd been reports in the area for weeks of mysterious vehicles following kids as they walked to school. One source reported to the True Crime Weblog that they'd even escorted their kids to school a few times out of worry over the mysterious vehicle(s). This source didn't live in Constantine, but they did live nearby.
The same source had been in Brownies and Girl Scouts with Marcia Trimble. She'd lived in the same neighborhood as Marcia."
im so confused by this. Im sorry, I must be having a really blonde moment here... ??
do u think the cases are somehow related or am I just dumb and missed what point you were trying to make?

Not related - just eerily coincidental.
Both deaths are independent and both equally devastating in the sense that both innocent girls lost their lives unnecessarily. But for those who remember the Marcia Trimble case in one way or another, Jodi Parrack's death brought up memories and ghosts. And the fact that they were similar in appearance makes the coincidence more disturbing.

Jodi's death just has an intimate feel to it....not like a death from a stranger. It takes a while to implicate family/friends in cases like this, and frequently, LE is very tight lipped about what they know.

One other thing.... you certainly have to admit that it is a bit of a cosmic curiosity that Jodi and Marcia looked a lot alike and died mysteriously around the same age, and all of a sudden there is movement in Marcia's case. Wierd.

" Jodi's death just has an intimate feel to it....not like a death from a stranger. It takes a while to implicate family/friends in cases like this,"
I agree, Reannan. The fact that her mother (ALONE) found her in the cemetary, that night, sounds to ME like she knew her daughter was there, and didn't want to leave her outside, alone, all night. I hesitated to state this, as I didn't want to "blame" the parents, but it's EXTREMELY weird that there hasn't been any news, that NO ONE saw her after 4:45 that afternoon, until her mother found her. I hope I am wrong. Hell, I hoped that this never had happened.

Check out the last comment in this article - author states she is the paternal grandmother. Even she thinks it is someone close to the family. My guess is she's thinking mom or stepdad.
Apparently a transient-type family. References to frequent moves, and I also read that they have left the house they lived in during the time of the murder (article said the move had been planned for some time).
Mom said she and husband took lie detectors, but has it been said anywhere that they passed? I don't recall reading one way or another.
Also, that mom said she immediately thought that Jodi was dead hours before she was found kind of sat wrong with me. I have a son of similar age and when he failed to come home by curfew time, I was more angry than worried at the time. Wouldn't a parent be in a denial phase during those first hours? I would like to know if the investigators think the crime was committed in the cemetery, or if she was moved there afterwards. Especially since she was found in an area near her home, but was last seen a heading the opposite direction.
I hope I'm wrong and just reading too much into what little info has been released.

I totally agree with what Soobs said, "The fact that her mother (ALONE) found her in the cemetary, that night, sounds to ME like she knew her daughter was there". After reading the article posted by bvikk, I really think LE probably has a very good idea of what happened. There were numerous comments in that article that sounded "off" to me. This case is going to be solved.

I too have thought from the beginning that the mom is somehow more involved than we know. However, in regards to her mom "immediately thinking that Jodi was dead hours before she was found". I do believe that sometimes your gut (for lack of a better word) can tell you things before you discover the truth. Thank goodness I have not had this experience with my children. However, there have been times that I knew in my stomach something really bad before I found out for real. Gut instinct does exist in my opinion.

Has it been stated that mom was alone? I have read it as such, but other accounts said otherwise. Sometimes I read so many different articles (and their comments) that it all starts to run together. Somewhere it was reported that the FBI has backed off the case - another red flag for the family.

My memory was that the mom was alone but in searching old articles online it said "Perhaps the hardest and most shocking to everyone is that Jodi's mother was one of the people who found her in the cemetery." (WSJV FOX News November 9, 2007, 4:40 pm)
What is odd is that as many un answered questions this case has - there is virtually no update in the news. This is a small town with very little else going on. The most recent report I have found is from 11/14/07. Basically all of that says is that the town is still (understandably) beyond upset and scared, there are more rumors than actual leads and the police hope to solve this soon. That was 10 days ago.

"there is virtually no update in the news. This is a small town with very little else going on. The most recent report I have found is from 11/14/07. "
I agree, Julia. I check every day I am online, and there is NOTHING being reported.
After viewing the link above, I am even more convinced that the parents (mom or stepdad) had something to do with her murder. The mother said her daughter "looked peaceful...like she was sleeping, beautiful?" Not words I'd use less than a month after finding my child dead. She told her she was sorry? Again, sounds like she had something to do with it. And the fact that she got money from her pastor, to buy a freaking cat AFTER her daughter's murder?????? Yeah, something is NOT right. And they WILL go down for this child's murder, of that I have no doubt.

"steve im sorry if my inferior intellect was so beneath your time to reply. im glad some one up cleared that up for ya too...."
I'm sorry you're so thin-skinned, Michelle. If you've read much of my blog at all, you know you've completely mischaracterized the way I deal with people with this kind of response to me.
I was irritated with your question, yes, because I felt that what I was saying was obvious. I'll be the first to admit that I've been too wordy or vague with other blog posts in the past, but I re-read what I wrote here several times, and my point was clear. The other comments demonstrate to me that this is so.
I was glad that Julia politely cleared it up because I wasn't feeling too polite, and had she not answered you first, I might have been pretty damned rude. And that's all I'm saying now because I'm feeling pretty damned rude at the moment, too.

The FBI has 2 prime suspects. Of course the step-father, which is to be expected, but he is secondary. Did anyone stop to consider WHY the FBI was called in on a local homocide? They don't usually do that unless the murder involves a crossing of state lines. Well, the FBI has a prime suspect who has had a series of lie detector tests - - failing a few of them. He is a life long constantine resident who is also a reserve police oficer. Jodi was at his sisters home the day she went missing........apparantly, the FBI expects to make an arrest soon. The prime suspect is said to have been among those who were searching for Jodi -- maybe it was him (or even his sister - whose house Jodi left) thatsuggested searchig the cemetary?
It does nnot look like there is a child predator lurking in Constantine.....their suspects are all people Jodi knew.

Links please, constantine neighbor. I am still not finding anything about the murder, and certainly nothing that you have written above. Is this a local rumor? Besides, the FBI are called in on child murders, if the local police are having a problem finding the suspect, in case it IS a predator.

"The St. Joseph County, Michigan prosecutor asked the media to stop reporting on the Jodi Parrack case.
Police continue to search for the person who killed the 11 year old Constantine girl three weeks ago.
A press release Wednesday said, "we have reached the stage in the investigation where media publicity with regard to the specifics of the investigation is no longer desirable."

Here is an article from Jodi's paternal Grandmother's grief. It sounds like Jodi's life was a bit chaotic.

"Valerie Jo remarried and Jodi now had a stepfather, Kevin Carver.
It wouldn’t be the last time the family moved. During Jodi’s lifetime, she lived in Colon, Mendon and Three Rivers. Last month, less than two weeks after her death, the family moved again to a different location in Constantine.
Jodi often spent time alone and on the streets in the village."
Please, let this case be solved soon. For some reason, I can't get it off of my mind.

I came upon this story when searching for information on my missing friend Cindy Zarzykci from Eastpoint. I have not heard of this story before today. I have been reading about it and something is troubling me about the mothers statements. The fact she said she was sorry to her dead daughter sent chills up my spine. How come there is not more info on this case? Seems like it's been swept under the rug. My gut tells me the mother knows more, her reaction was strange to me. The fact that she was placed in a cemetary and was lying there peacefully tells me it was someone who loved her and that it may have been a tragic accident. Who ever did it showed for lack of better words "respect" to the little girl and did not just dump her in a random spot. They wanted her found. Why won't they reveal the autopsy report? It seems to me if the police had a suspect they should have acted on it by now and not releasing any info on it may infact be hindering any new leads comming in. I Think this bothers me alot because my friend Cindy was 13 when she disapeared 22 years ago and i have never forgotten after all this time. Just recently they made an arrest in Cindy's Murder and hopefully they can bring her home and put her to rest.
