I am SO happy!!!! It is ironic because I had emaild one of the detectives working on the case a few months ago - just to encourage them to not let the case die, and to let them know that there were a LOT of us who are never, ever, ever, going to forget. He actually left a message on my voice mail, and I had a voice mail today from Verizon, that the "saved message was going to be deleted", so I saved it again. I was planning on sending another email today - NOW IT WILL BE AN EMAIL OF THANK YOU!!!! Let justice ring!!! |

After Cubby posted the link to the warrant at Websleuths, I found out the primary charge is murder! What a relief!!! I am so happy about this... and sad at the same time because it doesn't bring Tori and Dean back. But at least POS isn't roaming free anymore! Reannan, I looked at that myspace for Max. It's not the same one that was online last year. He had a slew of friends and all kinds of partying pictures. I'm positive about that because he had pics of Dennis and himself which he took down once one of the TV stations aired a report about Dennis. |

Thefirstdiane - was that the guy wearing the KKK suit in some of the early MySpace pages? Someone over at WebSleuths mentioned this, and I remember that account gave me the creeps, and not because of the KKK clothing. Sad to think someone would want a friend bad enough to cover for them over something like the act that Dennis is accused of. |

Max is Dennis's best friend. He may very well go to prison, based on what I've read in court papers. He's done nothing but try and obstruct the investigation and protect his buddy. |

Max is an idiot then. I certainly understand the need to be "cool" and to cover for a friend, and not be a "snitch", but covering for the acts of evil that Dennis Potts committed is beyond anything that any decent human being would be willing to cover for. I would die for my friends, but I would never cover for them if they murdered a baby; with a noose in his crib. That is a line in the sand that is equivalent to the Grand Canyon. Max HAD to know what Dennis did, and he remained silent. Shame on Max. |

Good grief! Well, I guess it just goes to show; thankfully, most criminals are stupid, and their own stupidity eventually leads to justice. In this case, however, I have to give a big shout-out to Detective Kevin Rooney with the San Diego PD. He has been as determined as Dayna and us to see justice in this case. I just emailed him a big Thank You. If there is some sort of place to submit nominations for Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, I would certainly like to nominate him. I am SO happy with today's arrest I could dance in circles!!!! It will never bring Tori and Dean back, but justice is the last thing we have to offer them, and Detective Rooney has cuffed them both! Steve, if you communicate with Dayna, tell her she has a big cyber hug from all of us who have stalked DP all over the net for almost two years now. Steve, how can I get a copy of the warrant and complaint? Is it online some where? I'm from San Diego and live in LA. My husband is in law enforcement and I went to law school with Pete Deddeh. I know the Bonita area well and can just "see" where they were both arrested. What a great day for justice. I don't practice criminal law, but I think Judge Deddeh will have to recuse himself from this one. |

I find it so odd that there are no current pictures of him or mugshots in the videos, online or newspaper reports from now or over the past 18 months - even the small one today on the NBC homepage has the face blurred out. What's up with that? He's not a minor, why isn't his face being shown? |

LHT, welcome to Steve's site. If you have never been here before, and if you are not a follower of true crime, and if you were not previously familiar with the Tori and Dean murders, I can certainly see where you would drop in and take our comments to be those of a witch-hunt. It is the equivalent of walking into a party and finding yourself listening to a conversation for which you have no background information. With all of that said, I have a few points to share. 1. We are not a jury, and therefore, we are free to speculate regarding guilt or innocence. We do NOT have to assume Dennis is innocent - our legal system will do that. 2. We have followed this case from the very beginning. Therefore, we have a history with this case that allows us to layer new information and developments over the information and ideas that have been part of our lives over the last year and a half. Phrasing it another way, we have a "perspective" on this case. 3. We are passionate about this case - but I can see that you have already surmized that point. Dennis Potts will be tried in a court of law and the facts will either exonerate him or convict him. I know for a fact that law enforcement who are involved with this case have worked very hard to make sure all of the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. Dennis and Max were not arrested this past Wednesday because LE had nothing better to do. They were arrested because enough of the puzzles pieces were in place for LE to have a fairly clear picture of what happened that night. Please remember that when some of these same officers walked into the apartment that night, they found Tori lying in the living room dead. This is unfortunately, not an unusual event for LE to find a dead body. When the officers onsite that night walked into Dean's room, however, the site that they saw is something that will color their nightmares for the rest of their lives. A beautiful baby boy was hung by a noose in his crib - the place where he should have been safest was used as an execution site. Even if Dennis was not guilty of the murder, I feel comfortable with using the word scumbag to describe his lack of concern and sympathy for the DEATH of his CHILD. These facts are already out there, and cannot be denied. |

WAy back when this discussion started in 2006, it was mentioned that the family of the accused may socialize with the judge's extended family. That's the only reason. Nothing more than that. |

I found out about this case only a week ago and have been obsessed w/searching for info. I've read everythig there is about the people involved and been to every site and baffled that it got no national attention like some of the other cases. There is a distant connection here to the Potts family, the Deddeh's, etc. Please understand that parents/relatives can be good people. Please don't prosecute relatives. I can see how parents do enable their children by some acts of love like buying them expensive cars too soon and giving them too much not realizing every action could have a consequence of a sort. From what I read, Dennis's whole thing was that his family can't find out about Dean. But from what I heard of his parents, they would have done everything for baby Dean had they known about him. Dennis kept it a secret probably because he thought there was no way to tell his parents (or fiance) that he had a baby out of wedlock considering they are involved and related to some influencial people. But justice always prevails just like it is going to with the Natalee Holoway case. The criminal will pay in one way or another, be in the court of law or the court of public opinion. I feel so badly for Tori and Dean and their loved ones. This is real and unbelievable that someone I know of could do this. I feel sorry for his family too as this is a shock to them, they will their son and surely can't believe he is capable of this horrible crime. We have to raise children with character and conscience, not just by showering them with money and things. If DP did this he should pay. I feel for Dayna with all my heart..I too have a daughter that I pray will stay out of harm's way. Love you Dayna, thinking of you and yours always. He doesn't deserve to live..he's taken lives and destroyed other people's lives. I also suspect parents always will attempt to use their powers to help their kids..it seems natural for parents to protect but even a mother/father needs to confess if they know the truth....I honestly believe they did not know the truth about Dennis's real life. We think we know our kids but every criminal is someone's kid. I am sad for all and praying for peace. If DP was my son, I would not want him to be free and walking around in this world knowing he can hard someone else. Just can't do it because I have a conscience and that is the worst punishment. |

Hi Celestial, again I only found out a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to sleep at all just thinking of the moment baby Dean & Tori faced the killer....I keep thinking of the moment they took their last breath. I am outraged that monsters live among us and pray daily for peace in this world. Thanks for telling me more...yes I found lots in my research but I didn't know about hunting...animal heart! and never saw the porn sites. That's sick. I don't live in CA and we get no coverage at all. I'm guessing Nicole is the fiance. I appreciate all the info as I'm not aware of all details. I only heard from someone that knows the Potts that DP has said: "I knew Dean was my son, I could never have done this to him". I also know that no criminal comes clean to confess. If he is guilty, no amount of money or social status and power, should release him from what is coming to him. So should we be afraid of all hunters? There are many many around here. So if you can hunt and kill an animal, does that mean you can kill a human being too? If so, hunting should be outlawed. I beleive we'll all get what we deserve in life & death. And so will the guilty person in this case. He will burn on earth and in hell. I pray that Tori & Dean are enjoying each other in heaven and are in total peace. I pray that Dayna and her family can find total peace someday, somehow. Please continue to post updates if any. |

Whether or not the LE found DP's DNA at the scene will be unveiled during the trial. The fact that Dennis made arrangements to meet Tori that night is undisputitable. The fact that Dennis' cell phone signal to Tori (her last text message before she was murderered) has been traceed to a cell phone tower very close to Tori's apartment, was disclosed at the arraignment. Read between the lines. |

To all of the bloggers that have been following this case and have provided information and support for Tori & Dean, thank you so much! Thank you Steve also for keeping the word out there. We all look forward to the day the animals are sentenced. In case you are not aware, Steve is having some health issues. He is asking for help to get health insurance.
