yes, Steve....that sounds great. I like the forum style....with threads (ability to see all of your blog posts on one page, etc)
I rearrange my furniture ALL the time LOL! I move and change all kinds of things all the time.....it is an anti-anxiety cure like no other!
btw, with halo scan it never allows the goback button to work (to go back to your blog entry)

Steve, you are a shape shifter. I say that in a nice way. I can always find ya though.
The changes sound like a good idea.

Oh, my new nic, I don't want to be confused with the person posting on the church shooter thread.
Raised Southern Baptist, don't attend or believe in most of what I was taught.

I am ready cuz I have about had enough of waiting for the length of time it takes to refresh long comment sections like the Meredith Kercher murder.
Also I hope there is a consistent way to quote another poster. I am having a hard time discerning new posts from old posts but that may just be "my" problem.

First time poster....long time lurker
This format looks MUCH better, more organized, than in the past few days. I must tell you, I stopped "checking in" here this last week, the disorganization gave me such a bad headache. But I'll be coming back now! (And who knows, maybe commenting finally)

I'm back to being Emily Booth instead of EmilyBooth.
I liked disqus. Haloscan is not bad. For some reason, I have to really stretch the window very wide to be able to read the end of sentences.
I liked that other point system? I remember there was a troll who got voted off. The point system at disqus I think was too complicated for people to use or was misused; just wasn't used well.

Yup, as Nursebeeme pointed out, the back button doesn't work.

I've been reading long enough to see many changes and in the end this is your place not mine so whatever works for you is best. I didn't dislike Disqus as much as find it different and at times harder to follow. I'm a fairly bright woman who is out here all the time and it presented some challenge. I usually make several visits here during a day but I found myself less interested in continuing the read and more interested in moving to another site. No matter what you choose I'll still be reading as I've enjoyed your work since the DarkSide.

I just go with the flow. When you try something new, I learn something new. Whatever works for you and your blog, I'm there

I'm confused or just too tired to process what I just read ~ go figure. Mr. Huff, hands down you are the BEST, and I care not what you do so long as you continue ~ I too will figure it out. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity, as you too have a life!
The only thing that is important to me is that all of the old comments are somehow integrated or referenced via link, etc.
Happy Holidays to you and yours !

Steve,
On the 13th I said I was ready for a change. Well, after the first day of trying to navigate the Disqus system I felt like that old saying "be careful what you wish for". Way too many bells and whistles for me. I'll now quietly be very patient as I wait for my computer to refresh on those long Haloscan comment sections. I'll take that any day over avatars and point systems.
♥ and hugs to your dear wife Dana and Merry Christmas to your whole family.

Thanks Steve and everyone else for trying out Disqus and giving the continual feedback.
I'd love to have you guys give us a second look in the near future.

Yeah, okay, call me an anachronism--I want my cell phone to simply receive and send calls (it doesn't need to be a camera/ipod/kitchen sink), and I want the "blogmenter" space to be free from extraneous frills: let me simply read and comment.
I, too, am a fairly bright girl who can figure out which commenter is worth reading and those who are best ignored without a site-supported point system trying to set up some sort of gotcha game. More extraneous stuff to draw the conversation away from the blog topic is not what I want to see--I read Steve's entries because of his ability to make me care, his ability with language and research making the stories transcend the words on the screen.
I like reading commenters who have something interesting to say about the cases, and appreciate their theories and speculation; I do not like reading (or trying to ignore) those who moan/groan/complain about their points being up, down, or nonexistent, or moan/groan/complain about how mistreated they are by other commenters. Childish, and time-consuming to slog through.
I'll follow you, Steve, until I can't keep up.
