This guy sounds like a first class creep. What the hell was he doing messing around with a 16 year old girl in the first place? While I hope that Stacey turns up alive and well, I somehow doubt that is the way this is going to pan out. A silver lining, if it can even be called that, is that LE is taking a second look at what happened to Kathleen. I've a hunch this guy is going to go down pretty hard.

He's been officially named a suspect in the disappearance of Stacy.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/ 0,2...,310138,00.html

I echo what D.P. said above. Not sure about different state laws re: consent, but if she was 16 when they starting seeing each other, he may have committed a crime in addition to just being creepy.

Also, does anyone find it eerie that her name rhymes with "Lacy Peterson"? Just a couple letters off.

I have a gut feeling that he killed the missing mom, also.

I think she found out about his "mentoring" and was upset and threatened to say something and he killed her.

She was walking to search with a black bible the last time she was seen. The mother was 40 at the time and Drew would have been 42.

If the mother was a depressed over the children as was said she wouldn't of been going to church. That indicates to me that she still had some hope left.

I really hope and pray someone looks at the mothers' disappearance closely.

Thank you Steve for your excellent research and writing!

Kat, I think she has a daughter named Lacy, and one of Stacy's sisters was named Lacy Cales -- that sister passed away, not too long ago.

This guy sounds like a cross between Scott Peterson and one of the dirty cops from THE SHIELD. (Not Vic, though.)

I'm interested in knowing more about these alleged shakedowns for drugs and money. The charges that were dropped for lack of evidence in the late 80's are intriguing. This guy shows a disturbing pattern of living by his own "laws" and getting away with it.

I know this is insignificant , all things considered, and may sound very superficial of me...oh hell, im just gonna say it- How did his ugly ass get these attractive young girls? Was the class they were in together HYPNOTISM? I think he likes "young" girls way too much--perv!

Youth and a lack of confidence in a pretty girl would be catnip to a guy like that. He'd know precisely how to play someone with that combination of traits.

Steve, don't you think money might have played a part in at least Stacy's attraction to him?

I've been looking at this guy's records and he's been wheeling & dealing in businesses for years.

And if there is any truth to the rumors of drug dealer shakedowns then Sgt has been walking around with a pile of cash for decades.

I think Sgt loves control, but might love his money more.

Diane said: "I think Sgt loves control, but might love his money more."

I think he loves himself the most. Whatever it is that he wants is what he expects to get. Kathleen had inside info on him, she was going to get money and assets out of the divorce, she was worth more dead than alive, and he was not going to "lose" in any way to her. The funny thing is Drew didn't realize at the time of Kathleen's death that she had changed the beneficiaries of her insurance policy to her two boys. Not sure how much Drew was able to get out of the death, but the money was intended for the boys. I believe only her sister knew of the change in policy. Otherwise, he believed she was worth a cool million. He was extremely sloppy in re: to Kathleen's death. Hard to believe he thought he could get away with it, even harder to believe he almost has! Not sure if he did the dirty work himself or not, but he definitely is the orchestrator. How convenient of him to only move a couple blocks away so he could easily gain access to her home on foot and have the boys be none the wiser that dad was gone during the night.

I think he was exceptionally ticked that he was losing Stacy. After all, she should have been a much easier prey and even she was vying for an escape. Poor girl. She got caught in a very tangled web. I hope this does not turnout like the Theresa Parker case where her LE husband has basically gotten away with murder since they cannot find her body.

Now four innocent children will be without their mothers and two boys will now have lost their mother and then their stepmother. I'm sure it won't be long until they lose their father too. I hope they have a strong support system.

My understanding is that he was wanting to retire in December - so any pending threat of a divorce by Stacey would have caused some financial issues.

I've thought from the beginning that money may have been an issue. Camper, above-ground pool, ultra-light aircraft, all on one salary. All those halloween decorations the police deflated were expensive, too. I have friends within law enforcement who can claim a higher rank than him, but no way could any of them afford this stuff. Also, one of my friends told me that it was illegal for them to own a bar or liquor store, but maybe the laws are different in Illinois than in Indiana.

I am surprised that they are actually stating the word "suspect" without charging him, cause lately they seem to avoid the word until the arrest is made. Any chance it is a tatic to "break" him? Or maybe it allows them to officially suspend him from the force?

Another issue - the "control freaks" that I know would never permit their wives to take college courses. You know, get a little education and ya may just realize that you can survive on your own. I'll bet he wasn't happy with Stacy going.

I usually try not to read into anything, but when he said something like, "she is where she wants to be" it really creeped me out. Like, if she's dead, it's her fault for not following the rules.

The subconscious works in funny ways bvikk!

I don't think they could avoid calling him a suspect. He's not stupid and he knows damn well he's a suspect whether LE admitted it out loud or not. It's now going to be a cat and mouse game. They'll be nice, he'll be nice, all waiting for either one to show their hand.

Hopefully Eq. Search can find her. I'll be interested to see the phone records. The supposed 9pm phonecall is important, but what's more important is their pattern of calls. If he called her all the time and suddenly stopped after the 9pm-Sun. call, it could be used as evidence later that he knew she was dead. Otherwise, if he called her all the time prior, and she did call to say she was leaving him, I doubt he would have taken that on the chin and let her be afterwards. He would have been hunting her down.

Good point Emerson. A guy like that would be livid that she left him for another guy and would spend his time hounding her. He seems a bit too serene that the mother of his children has "ran off" with another guy...abandoning her children. Right.

I heard Stacy Peterson's mom went missing years ago and has never been located- anyone hear more about this?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/ 0,2...,310405,00.html

Seems his nieghbor has filed a police report on him.

I had not heard that Tellyourstory, however I have heard that her sister died of cancer not too long ago.

Michelle: Re how this guy gets cute yougn girls--it's obvious he targets the ones with "daddy" issues, a sad side effect of young girls being raised by single mothers or having emotionally unavailable fathers.

Diane said :
He was extremely sloppy in re: to Kathleen's death. Hard to believe he thought he could get away with it, even harder to believe he almost has!

IMO there was a wicked web of LE that were involved in this. Sounds like a lot of people had a lot of things to lose.
He would not have been the the lone ranger in regards to shake downs I believe and therefore his former wife would have been a huge threat to many people.
I am not saying that there were others involved in the 'alleged' murder but possibly in the cover-up.

tellurstory- She did go missing when Stacy was 15. She left and never came back. Stacy did try to locate her. Her mother supposedly had some serious psychological issues. That's most likely why Drew is trying to tout that out and claim Stacy just did what her own mother did. Those who know her say differently however. Plus, I think it would be even less likely Stacy would have gone that route after going through it herself as a child.

I find it interesting that Stacy's Mom "went missing" so close to the time line that Stacy was being groomed by this guy. What were the "signs" around "Mom" going awol? Maybe Mom felt a real need, a Mom's need to protect her daughter no matter? Was Mom in the way? This is real creepy. This "husband" is dirty. So dirty his own mothers advice for clean underwear won't save him. I would look real deep into this man for multi murder. Stacy, her Mom, and all the exes.

Wow...that is really creepy.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/ met...oling11.article

Read the SunTimes today for how f'ed up this little girl was.

- Stacy's mom 'kind of went crazy' after 2 children died in seperate incidents
- The family moved between 20 and 30 times while she was growing up.
- Drunken dad called kids names "When he was drunk he was very verbally abusive," she said. "He called the girls horrible names."
- Her brother, whom she lived with growing up, Yelton Cales, 28, is incarcerated in the Western Illinois Correctional Center, convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor
- Drew Peterson appeared at the hotel where Stacy worked. They talked over coffee; he would drop in during her shift. Months later, they became intimate, Stacy told Klitzke.
- Savio divorced Peterson in 2003 after learning of the affair and that Stacy was pregnant. Drew Peterson married Stacy later that year.

.... This Child (which is what she was) didn't have a chance. If she hadn't been molested by a 50 yr old dirty cop, she'd be on the pole somewhere.

She did seem to have a lot to overcome, with or without ever having met Drew Peterson. I don't know if she would necessarily be "on a pole" somewhere, but she'd have had an uphill battle. I think Drew looked like a "Knight" to her after everything she had been through. A protector of sorts. Only, it appears he was a "Black Knight", not the white one.

Kathleen Savio actually stated that she was trying to make the divorce simple FOR the sake of Satcy, whom she felt sorry for. I think Kathleen most likely felt that she would not have been able to get through to Stacy even if she tried to warn her, and that if she tried to warn her it would have put Kathleen into more harm's way. Sadly, it didn't matter. She was already targeted.

BTW, the next door neighbor, (Stacy's friend and babysitter), has filed a report with LE stating that Drew was on her front lawn the other night screaming her name saying "I want you!" She is now in hiding. Also, another male friend of Drew's who wised up to the fact that Drew is involved with the disappearance, also received a threat over the phone from Drew. He is now in hiding as well. LE needs to find some way to lock him up and get those kids out of there asap.

I am haunted by this story. My former boyfriend was a Lieutenant at our Sheriff's department and a detective. I was brutally beaten by him during our relationship, isolated from frields and family, raped at gunpoint and had my life threatened if I reported his abuse. I even had broken bones from the beatings. I made countless visits to the emergency room with injuries. One night, I fled and went to the hospital after a beating. I had to wait until he passed out from his drinking. The hospital called authorities. He was never arrested, charged with crime and only got fired after I went to the media. Now he's beig prosecuted by the State Attorney General's office. Here is a link to th news story. I am the blonde, former girlfriend mentioned in the story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B...h? v=Ba_i_9oJyNs

It's easy to assume that he got away with his third wife's murder because he's a cop.(if he did kill her)

However, there have been similar suspicious cases where the husband wasn't in law enforcement and the authorities ruled the deaths accidental. I remember a case where it wasn't until a second wife died in a hot tub "drowning" that authorities went back and looked at the guy's first wife's bathtub "drowning".

I'm not saying that it's impossible that there was a coverup or conspiracy just that it's not a given.

Keep up the good detective work - this guy is bad news!

LaLady- Good for you that you didn't give-up and have managed to shine the spotlight on that cockroach! You would have never managed to get any cooperation out of that Sheriff without the media's help. You can tell he wasn't interested in busting one of his own, which is disgusting. Good luck!

Thankfully the media, (for w/e reason) latched onto the Peterson case as well, because without Greta and Nancy's producer's sticking their nose into everything Drew may have evaded the law again.

Thanks! He'll pay for his abusive ways. I pray that Drew Peterson pays for what he's done. I was haunted when I saw how much wife 3 and 4 looked alike, especially in their eyes.

Since the news story aired, a total of six women have come forward. Last week, we made the front page of the Times Picayune. Only two of us are discussed because we were the only ones who would speak to reporters. Here's the link to that article. http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/riv...0260.xml& coll=1

I should have phrased my comment more clearly. Since my news story aired six women have come forward alleging abuse and sexual assault by the cop.

LaLady, bless you for getting out of that relationship. I realize that many people get into law enforcement, as a way to control others, or for the power. I WANT to believe it's a small number, and that most are compassionate people who believe in justice. The fact that your ex, and Peterson were able to work in LE for so long, all the while continuing with their abisive ways, angers me.

Thank you for your kind words. I, too, thought that people went into law enforcement for all the right reasons. Since becoming a victim of abuse, and having the Sheriff tell me that he was "personal friends" with my abuser, he sent him to counseling and I shouldn't expect more action really made me angry. The Sheriff wasn't the one beaten, raped at gunpoint, didn't have broken bones or lose his six figure job for calling in to work sick too many times. As a single, very successful parent, I lost a lot at the hands of that man. Never again! He still threatens to kill me and he's still walking the streets. They can't strip him of his weapons because he hasn't "yet" been convicted of a felony. So...my father moved into my home to protect me and we've taken extraordinary safety precautions.

Now, this site is about Stacy and not me. I mentioned my issue because I was haunted by some of the similarities in personalities of the cops. Let's pray for Stacy and her family. They are most important now.

Every time I read something about Kathy, it makes me sick to my stomach. My brother dated Kathy for 6 years. I wish they would have stayed together. She would still be alive today. Kathy was a very kind and caring person. Hope they nail this dirtbag to the wall. Both for Kathy and Stacy.

Amen! They need to nail him to the walls by his genitals!

Why did Drew Petersons superiors let him continue to groom young girls in front of everyone. Come on even Helen Keller could see what he was doing. This man is sick sick sick. The Savio family are finally getting to speak there mind and peace after years of being ignored by the police department. I hope if the the coroner shows it was homicide that the Savio family sue the police department for covering up the crimes that this animal committed.

Colleen, he really looks good for Savio's death, but bathtub deaths are so damn common that it would be very hard to prove.

I tend to believe that the man is a Sociopath, just like my ex-cop boyfriend. When I was watching Nancy Grace Friday evening, I was disturbed at his comments to the camera. Also, seeing him with his face covered by a bandana or whatever that was was really strange. I couldn't help but notice how much he appeared to be on edge, pointing his finger at the media. Something is not right with that beast.

God bless all of his victims. As much as I'd like to believe Stacy will be found alive, I've got serious doubts. Since he's a cop, there is a chance that they may never find Stacy dead or alive. He would know how to hide a body. It makes me sick. HE makes me sick.

Melissa.... bathtub deaths are common, but not when:

1) There is no evidence of any water being in the tub and Peterson's colleagues list the death of accidental drowning

2) Her hair is soaked in blood from suffering so much damage to her scalp

3) Bruised face that couldn't possibly come from an accidental drowning

Was there any water in her lungs? I just don't understand the coroner's original report.

Not sure Soobs, but wouldn't doubt it. She had multiple abrasions and bruises on her body, along with a large wound on her head that bled out. Also, it was not a regular sized tub we are thinking about, but rather a much smaller tub, not really one for relaxing. The sister said she couldn't even fathom how someone could fall and accidentally drown, even if true, due to how folded up the body would have to be to find one's head under water in that small of a space.

Last piece that stuck out like a sore thumb is that her hair was down. She had very long hair. I don't know too many women that take baths with long hair not tied up, and Kathy's sister stated that she always tied it up for baths. It's those small things that criminals forget. Oh, and the whole "brutally beat her and then hold her head under water" part.

Sounds like another Peterson actually, and I don't mean Scott.
http://tinyurl.com/2rurle

Bathtub deaths aren't that common when the victim is a healthy, 40-year old with no drugs or alcohol in her system. And what did the coroner think she did? Hit her head, then jump out of the tub, get abrasions to the back of her elbows and buttocks from a rough surface, then jump back into the tub to die? The questions abound re: water in the tub, was there bleeding into a dry tub (was she alive for some time after the water was gone), did she have a towel, bathrobe or clothes around, and all that. The guy is still trying to maintain control by sparring with the media, and giving "select" interviews. He's obviously starting to lose it though, when he starts yelling at his neighbors like he did. I'm glad all of the kids are out of the house. He seems like a prime suicide candidate to me.

My God, when are they gonna exhume Kathleen's body?? What's taking so long??
I wonder too about the coroner. Is this going to uncover layers & layers of corruption in the Chicago-area PD??
Drew Peterson is one of the creepiest villians I've seen lately...creepier than Cutts, even!
Forgive me, but I do believe there are certain individuals who should be held in greater contempt by the law, like Policemen, Soldiers, Teachers, Preachers. Their punishments should be more severe.
They are people we teach our children to look up to, and if they can't abide by those standards, they should work in factories, or quick-e-marts.

Was she found face-down? If the tub was that small, and she was under water at some point, why was her hair described as matted with blood? Wouldn't that have dissipated in the water?

Mary said: "Was she found face-down? If the tub was that small, and she was under water at some point, why was her hair described as matted with blood? Wouldn't that have dissipated in the water?"

Well, now Mary, there you go using common sense! These are so many obvious clues in Kathleen's death that point to homicide it's actualy quite disturbing to think that there was a measured system that dismissed every clue. It's even more distressing considering the cries for help made by Kathy herself beforehand and her family after the fact. That's a whole lot of people making a conscious decision to look the other way.

The first antenna that went up for me was the fact that Drew went and got a neighbor to enter the home when Kathy supposedly didn't answer. When you're innocent you don't do things like that, particularly when you are in LE. I realize he would say that with their history he didn't want to enter alone, or better yet, he'd excuse himself b/c of him being with the kids at that time. Either way, I believe it to be a load of poo.

Drew went and got a neighbor to call a locksmith when he only lived a few houses down the street. Then he sent the neighbor and Kathy's friend in first. He went in himself after they discovered the body. I wonder if he didn't want to have as many people wandering around the crime scene before police arrived.

I hope Peterson's first two wives are accounted for!

I don't understand did the bump on the head kill her or did she drown? If you are taking a bath and filling it with water and then you fall and drown, why would the water drain away? Also, I have drained my tub while still lying inside it and the water drains pretty quickly, not sure I can drown too the point of death with the water draining out that fast.

Was there a crack in the tub? Blood splatter?

I have scanned most news reports and most of this blog ... have never been able to find any information on Drew Peterson's first 2 wives ... have they ever been interviewed or still alive?

All I can say is something smells like a rat. One of his wives drowns in a tub that when discovered, was empty. Hmmmmm...now another one of his wives shows up missing...hmmmmm...were there any life insurance policy(s) on this wife as well??? I don't mean to pre-judge, but something just doesn't seem quite right to anyone with a brain.

I believe they are still alive, but do not want to be put under a microscope or interviewed about Drew as their relationships with him were a long time ago. If they were also abused, and escaped the abuse, they're hardly likely to stick their neck out now. Main point: they're alive.

There was an interesting interview last night between Greta van Susteren and the stepdaughter of Drew Peterson (daughter of his 2nd wife). Drew and her mother were married from 1982-1992, while she was 8 - 18 years old. Her face was kept in shadow at her request. She said that she had witnmessed both verbal and emotional abuse, and had heard physical abuse. Her mother had told her that Drew had stated that he could kill her (mother) and make it look like an accident. She also stated that Drew would still show up occasionally, (as recently as a few months ago) and her mother would be civil to him, but she was still afraid of him. The daughter said that Drew was the disciplinarianin the home, and would whip her with a belt. It doesn't sound like he changed too much over the years.

I thought this was very interesting:
http://www.amw.com/pdf/ petersonl...ersonletter.pdf
I also read on another blog that Drew Peterson has a two-seater @ Clow airport- flight plans are necessary on all flights- correct?

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/1...e.ap/ index.html

In this article Drew claims that Stacy had called him to tell him she had run off with another man. Phone records should confirm that...anyone heat anything about that?

Sorry for the typo...should read "Hear".

Lisette- Yes, I do believe he has a plane, which is why it was supposed to be "normal" that Stacy would have chosen that as a place to leave her car.

The letter you linked is beyond distrubing. I keep thinking of the moment when he killed Kathy and how she KNEW this was going to happen and had gone through ALL of the steps she could have to get herself help and noone listened. Her stating, "I was afraid I was never going to see my boys again" just makes me so sad for her and them. The list of disturbing things going on in front of those boys, only to have their mother taken away, is enraging.

And then there's Stacy. Kathy gives a good glimpse into her state of mind at the time she began dating Drew. It seems as if she may have enjoyed the drama a bit. It may have been exciting and even somewhat "normal" considering her crazy childhood. Had she had the wisdom that comes with age she would have forseen herself as the one on the ground with her face in the grass, in front of her future children. She was a very easy mark for Drew. Damaged AND young.

I'm willing to bet that as the abuse began and continued Stacy began to have questions in her mind about Kathy's death and also was enlightened to what Kathy was going through. That must have been a very hard reality to realize.

Lastly, this coroner's jury deal, what a load of crap. The most insane idea ever was to have lay people sit on a jury and determine a cause of death with minimal evidence. If the coroner cannot determine c.o.d., why in the hell would lay people be able to? Isn't that his damn job?? Everything that could have gone wrong for Kathy back then, did. Strangely, in the end, she needed Stacy in order for her to finally be heard.

Just saw Drew Peterson on Today with Matt Lauer. Showed what a chilling sociopath he really is.

You know, I agree. For some reason, Lauer seemed like the perfect interviewer for this situation. He was so subtle, I think Peterson let his guard down.

I would have been shaking if I were Matt Lauer during that interview. Drew Peterson obviously has to be in control and gets his revenge when he is threatened. And he is mad and "afraid" at the media now who are finally exposing him. But I suppose he went through a metal detecter before entering NBC studios.

I agree with the poster who hopes that Kathleen's family sues that corrupted police force and anyone else covering up for him!

I hope the media stays right where they are.
INFRONT OF HIS HOUSE

if they stay he will crack at some point.

Drew cried for them to leave today on NBC. With the media there it has forced him to speak out twice now. lets stay there and make him speak out more. maybe he just might say something that can help

I HOPE THE MEDIA WILL STAY RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE

Here's a story that the AP put out this morning. Now the husband of the missing woman is blaming her vanishing on "hormones/her period". *eyeroll*

http://snipurl.com/1tn8u

It's interesting how Drew views himself as the "savior" of 2 women, and, how he talks about how they changed over the course of the relationship- he used the same phrase for both - that it was "very romantic in the beginning." Then, when things changed, it was about how they changed, and both somehow became "hormonal." (Must be something with that Bolingbrook water!)
Did anyone else catch how he stated that he sat down with the police and talked about the "story", then caught himself and said situation? Just a little slip of the tongue.

at 62 comments and holding, I am seeing this blogment is in it's death throes...(for the moment). I, for one....(in other words speaking for myself and myself only) hope that this will reverse itself soon. The lack of blogmenting here is starting to represent itself to me (imho)such the way that the lives of all of Mister Peterson's wives have read...with calls out and proverbial bloody scratches on the wall..connecting to nowhere.... Until they are either scared by pop-in calls every so often or an occasional show in flesh (please see Greta's interview with the daughter of wife number two that was done in shadow AND profile). I just know that isn't so here. I just know it. So perhaps we have all the other murdering idiots to blame that have come along since the one we know as Drew Peterson....

Either way...this guy is FREAKING TOAST. (yeah...and drew if you are reading this take note and tuck your tail...but running aint the option....hopefuly you are completely surrounded at this point!).

In keeping with my thoughts that drew is complete and utter toast, I would also like to offer up there questions that, if answered, could shed some more light onto his convenient (albiet f-d-up) lifestyle):

who was wife number one....it had to be a young relationship...right out of high school or soon following...what was his behaviour in HS and cop school? Any children in that relationship? What did THEY think?

What did other cops think who worked with him? You cannot tell me they were all corrupt and up into sanctifying his behavior. However, there had to be one if not more willing parties that advertently (or in-so) covered his sorry, skanky persona.

To find Stacy, I think we first need to uncover any and all ties/friends/sympathizers this guy had as friends, additional lovers (ie the next one to replace Stacy). He has a freaking established pattern of cheating, then marrying, then moving on to the next cheat (and on and on) so this should be easy to track. His relationships seemed to last moderate lenghths of time (between 3-10) years with all the wives leaving after having enough of his infidelity.

Usually in cases like this I do not feel as riled up as I do with this one. However, I can see the power that YOU, DREW, ARE ATTEMPTING TO YIELD after numerous murders to benefit yourself not only monitarily but sexually, emotionally, and AT THE EXPENSE OF THOUSANDS OF NAMELESS PEOPLE THAT HAVE SOMEONE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIBRANT FEMALE LIVES THAT YOU EXTINGUISHED TWO MINUTES TOO SOON.

V day cannot come SOON ENOUGH FOR YOU, drew.

You've also read the Websleuth's topics dedicated to this, haven't you? If not, go read. *smile* Lots more discussion there. I do think, that there are other "cases" here that people are talking about though.

Katk,
not to be "kattie" (lol...just innocent play on words) but I am really noticing a slack on this case HERE as per other sites I have already (and usually) visit that have breaking news and info on the case. Being a COMPLETE STEVE FAN AND READER of the past several years, I am just merely wishing for the great Steve~O to weigh in here a little bit in light of all the latest developments. Trust me, I am not new to this in any way shape or form. I, do however, appreciate the slight nudge and I guess I just chose to bite back a little. For that, I pre-emptively say i am sorry...

I heard this quote by Drew Peterson on the radio this AM: "Why would I look for somebody who I don't believe is missing? She's just gone. She's where she wants to be," Peterson told NBC's "Today" show.

His voice was very smooth but there was a pause before he said the word "missing" as though it was difficult to get out.

Emily,
I also enjoyed his full facial flush that was visibly evident while a guest on the NBC show with Matt L. It didn't happen until the end when he was asked how this was affected HIM.

The dude is a power tripping control freak on the edge of capture for at least one homicide in my opinion. So where are wife one and two at? We have briefly heard some bits about wife 2 via the daughter he raised from 8-17 but not wife one. Any other testimony among the same vein will not be revealing, per se, but could drive the hammer home if for some reason stacy is never found.

correction...how this "had affected him"...

I would bet that they may show-up to testify when this scumbag sociopath is on trial for murder Nurse. I am sure that once they escaped DP with their lives they were not planning on turning back EVER. (Kinda like the whole pillar of salt deal.) I'm quite sure they have more evidence to back up the abuse claims.

All I can think about is how sorry I feel for these 4 children.

I would like to see what Drew's reaction would be if he were asked to talk about water-boarding.

I don't really understand how it is done, but I think that Drew may have been doing it to Kathleen when she drowned, which could explain the water in her lungs, gash on the head, and absence of water in the tub.

Steve, what do you think about this? Do yo know how water-boarding is done? Could Drew have been trying to terrorize her this way and accidentally killed her?

I think Kathleen was an accident, or he would have been prepared to dispose of the body. He was more prepared with Stacy. Crime scene neat and clean, no body in sight, pathetic excuse for her absence ready to go.

Susan (TGIRecovered)

There's an interview with the 2nd wife in today's Trib @ http://tinyurl.com/yq2gzq.

They need to put his personality profile in the DSM-IV.

Susan, I don't see waterboarding playing into this - if he'd merely wanted to terrorize Kathleen, I think there would have been "better" ways to go about it, and if water was involved, it would have been simpler to just hold her head under the water (maybe he did, and the cut came from having hit it on the tub with extreme force as she tried to fight). I don't think it was an accident - he'd given her reason to fear for her safety, and his second wife says he'd threatened he could kill her and make it look like an accident. She said she didn't believe he'd do it, but at the same time, she went so far as to tell friends and the police dept, just "in case". Abusers don't get better, and the level of abuse gets worse as time goes on. While I can't say he killed Kathleen, I can say the circumstances of her death are suspicious, and I don't think it's a stretch to assume a cop might know how to stage a scene, how well his fellow officers -or the ME- might investigate a death, what they might overlook, what he could get away with. Maybe if he killed her, he didn't dispose of her body because he felt there was no real need to (and until recently, it worked)..

Autopsy reports in. Kathleen Savio was the victim of homicide.
http://snipurl.com/1tsjx

Thanks for the link, D.P... I hope they haul this SOB in, and there is justice for both Kathleen and Stacey. That article pisses me right off because of that Carcerano guy. It's fairly obvious where his loyalty lies,
and I think it's pretty disgusting that they'd publish what he said, given the fact Kathleen can't rebut it. I guess this autopsy is rebuttal enough, and says it all, but grr.

I just heard on CNN that the six on the jury (at the time of her death)
had been evenly split on accidental death and homocide, but one who felt
Kathleen had been murdered was swayed by someone who felt it was an accident. The latter happened to be a police officer... who knew Peterson and spoke so highly of him that the former switched sides, making it 4/2 for accidental death.

Hey - D. P. (one of the many posting on this topic) - can you tell us what D.P. stands for? Is it just a coincidence? I ask only because I know of someone who has a paroled boyfriend, and the criminal lurks around on sites about his crime . . . and makes posts and suggestions to elict more hype about his case. Don't mean to offend you if your name is Doug Parsons, or Detective Paul, or something. Can you understand how odd it looks???

How funny - I just noticed there is a "KatK" in this thread. I'm a different Kat!!!

Our D.P. has been around for quite awhile, here and on Websleuths, Crimene.ws and elsewhere, and I believe it is a she. I know that Steve pays attention to the IP numbers of those who post here, and if someone called D.P. started posting form Illinois on this particular comment thread he would certainly take notice and check it out. I am almost positive Steve would tell us if this happened.

I also think that if Drew Peterson were posting under the name D.P. we would be able to tell that was not our usual D.P. from what he would write.

You are correct, sometimes accused perps will post to comments or message boardswhere they are being discussed.

I wish Drew Peterson would join us. He may be able to hide the body of a small woman, but his mammoth ego is showing every time he opens his lying mouth. (Try and hide THAT, Drew-boy.)

Susan

Ditto for KatK. I have seen her mention while posting here or maybe somewhere else, that there is a poster called Kat, and it is not her, she is KatK.

Since many of us crime-junkies frequent the same websites, it does get a bit confusing when hats are similar but I don't see a problem as long as you are aware of each other and point out the difference if there is any confusion.

Susan is a common name so I switched to TGIRecovered but still sign my name Susan in case anyone cares that it is still me.

Steve is Mr.Allgood on Websleuths, and we all know it is him.

Now back to our scheduled story...

Thanks, Susan! I just returned from being out of town for the weekend, so I couldn't answer Kat's query. D.P. are my initials, and I have been posting under them for years now. Every once in a while, a case occurs where my initials cause a few readers who are not familiar with me to raise an eyebrow. A few months back, everyone was sure I was Dennis Potts, but I assure you...I'm no criminal, and I'm not trying to HYPE a case.

Thanks, all, for clearing up the D.P. snafu. I thought surely not even Drew Peterson would be so brazen, but narcissistic sociopaths are renown for their attitudes of superiority and invincibility. Thanks for your patience with me, a newbie . . . and I'll be here waiting with everyone not only to see how this investigation pans out, but it sounds as if the Bollingbrook Police Department needs investidating as well. They may be even more corrupt than my Catholic Church . . . and that is really corrupt!!!

"They may be even more corrupt than my Catholic Church . . . and that is really corrupt!!!"

Too funny, Kat! I vote we let you stay, I need all the laughs I can get.

Drew is reported to be showing up with Matt Lauer again tomorrow morning. Remember when zoos used to keep gorillas in cages with a glass front? Everyone would stand in front of the glass, making stupid faces, waiting to see what the gorilla would do next...should be a good show.

I won't be able to tune into the interview. Would you be so kind as to recap here, Susan? Thanks in advance if you can!
Kat...no prob! Good to have you here at Steve's blog!

The interview with Drew was ridiculous! He now has a lawyer who would not allow him to answer the majority of questions, which did seem to get on Matt Lauer's last nerve since he is no dummy and knows he is being conned.

The lawyer stated that Fox basically paid for Michael Baden to say it was a murder, hinting at ratings. (IMO) He said that Baden said, "People do not die in bathtubs." He then went on to state stats on the fact that people do die in bathtubs, but forgot to mention the entire sentence Baden stated originally, which was, "A healthy 41 year old woman does not just collapse and drown in a bathtub." How convenient.

Also, Matt asked about why Drew's second wife would say that he threatened to kill her and get away with it. Again the retort was that she was bitter from the divorce, he "thought" they were friends! LOL! He's beginning to humor me. I bet he's pissed he didn't kill the first two since they are able to still talk.

Thanks for the recap Emerson. I wonder if his first two marriages failed because of hormones as well? LOL.
I'm sure ol' Drew feels the noose tightening.

Drew Pearson's remark "She's just gone. She's where she wants to be" is chillingly similar to Scott Peterson's reference to Laci in the past tense, IMO.

Oh, that's right, my mistake. It is Peterson, not Pearson, and of course Stacey rhymes with Laci.

Okay, another parallel: Drew Peterson describes his wife as "missing". The word "missing" was also used by Scott Peterson, and somehow Laci's mother sensed something was not right when Scott used that particular word. From a report of Scott's trial: "Laci Peterson's mother testified Scott used the word "missing" to describe his wife, even though by his account he ’d only been trying to establish her whereabouts for less than an hour."

The interview with Drew Peterson's first wife is here: http://tinyurl.com/ypegzr. It appeared in yesterday's Sunday Trib. He was on the news again this evening. He is going to be in People magazine. He has hired a new attorney. The guy is smooth, very smooth. Altho he closed his eyes a few times while talking.

I keep seeing that his children are "staying with a neighbhor." Interesting . . . if my husband was missing, I would want to be with my children 100% of the time to comfort them and provide stability, especially if my spouse had left my family for another person. I kind of wonder if perhaps he cannot face up to them . . . or if they are so afraid of him that they are happy to be in someone else's home . . .

. . . hmmmmm . . . .

This case haunts me. Since I could not sleep I was trying to find info. on how this guy can support 5 kids, live in what appears to be a very expensive home, have multiple cars (I do not know how many) a motorcycle, an airplane, and the list goes on. Am I the only person who thinks this is way beyond a police officer's salary?

Not trying to run his though the dirt, but it appears that greater awareness must me made to the public that not all COPS hands are clean. Some like the control and chose that occupaction because they have a sense of control. Most are honest. Lawmakers must do a better job of screening potential officers. I am the former girlfriend in this video and there is a death threat over my head..and oh, yes.....I forgot to say that since the Sheriff is personal friends with the ex-cop, he's done everything in his power to keep the man out of jail. Now he's even stalking my family. I will speak until my voice can no longer be sileced.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B...h? v=Ba_i_9oJyNs

One other thing: May he Drew burn in hell and those who allowed that beautiful young woman to die go down with him.

Raise awareness! That's all as can do. I had to go through he media for help because I live in a small community and the Sheriff wouldn't do anything. Since then, the case has been handed over to the State Attorney Genral's office for prosecution. In the meantime, he still walks the streets- just like Drew Peterson. Both are pigs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B...h? v=Ba_i_9oJyNs

I am laughing . . . not at the case at hand, but the questioning of D.P.'s identity! Yes, this is my first visit to this story and read on this unsolved mystery (if you can even classify it as that). It has been for personal reasons, which I may share later, but I have not ventured this story at all other than seeing his creepy and guilty appearing face on the tele!!!

Doesn't everyone know that "D.P." stands for "most 'D'esired 'P'oster'"??? Sorry, I am being a shit here, but that was hilarious . . . or ridiculous ~ you choose. There are so many regular posters here that I just absolutely respect and appreciate, not to mention that "D.P." has been "D.P." for some time, and is a person who always shows kindness, creative intuition, and tries like most of us to refrain from incriminating comments until noteworthy facts come forth.

Please NEVER diss D.P. ~ just a recommendation, or you will be put in place here, and not just by me, as has been shown above. Know your facts, know who you are addressing, and try never to "ass"ume . . . well, most know the ending to that

Commenting and speculations are completely different, and I personally have gleaned much from this site for quite some time . . . it is always interesting to see how someone else's eyes view the same!

No offence intended.

Just needed to say that I shared more about a personal issue than I have ever have shared with anyone or wanted too especially here . . . honestly it just came out. Other than my husband, who was here, and my neighbors who also called police, and some a few times, there are few people that know what I just SPOUTED OUT . . . sorry!!!

I know this is about finding this beautiful young woman, and the mother of children waiting to see their mom again is just horrible!

Once again, I have stayed away from this for a reason, and hope most understand my outburst, and for some reason I become incoherent when I ever have had to speak about this. What I shared has nothing to do with this case, other than I do have an understanding of "LaLady's" comments regarding officers and departments, and wanted LaLady to know I UNDERSTAND!

Please excuse me for being so as to the case at hand . . . it was totally unintentional!

GET ON IT PD!!!

Just to clear-up my post immediately preceding this one . . . I was not referring to my post directly above it regarding D.P. I actually typed a post, and for some reason it did not post correctly (or at all for that matter). However, having not known that, and having second thoughts about what I had said in that post, I typed this one to apologize and explain, etc.

Sorry for any confusion!

I'm still screwing-up apparently! The post immediately preceding this one is from me, not "Anonymous" . . . jeez, sorry people!

RockyMtnMom: Still not sure what you are trying to say. Hopefully, you saw that I was respectfully inquiring who D.P. was, and that the misunderstanding was cleared up with no hard feelings. I'm surprised to hear that someone thinks I was "dissing" him. I'm new here, and I am very confused by your comments. But this area should not be about us - should it?

That's all I will say about it because I am here to focus on the fact that there is a beautiful young woman missing, leaving behind two little children who most likely cry for her every night. And there is a questionable death of a former wife at the hands of this creep. While the outcome for Stacy and her children will most likely not be positive, we as a society can make sure that the man who harmed her (and ultimately those precious children) receives his "just reward."

KatK

KatK:

When I used the term "dissing" is was meaning "disrespecting". I am aware that you are fairly new here, and I too welcome you! I recognized you as new from another post we have been posting on, wherein D.P. was also a frequent poster . . . "ass"umed you may have recognized "her" (I believe ) initials, and in no way would have possibly thought she would be Mr. Wife Killer (a/k/a Drew Peterson), posting here.

I've read crime for years, have known those initials well before I ever posted on any crime blog, and just D.P.'s frequency here is quite a presence. That is why I was being sarcastic, and I apologize if I offended anyone, especially you! I have always had a knack for remembering names, initials, numbers, cases, case law, etc. . . . just me, and know I have also been lurking around these parts for years before ever posting.

As to the case at hand ~ well, I made a post, it did not post, and I felt a little fearful of a few things I had said, and then tried to explain ~ which also sounded like I was speaking out of my butt!!! This case, an experience, and too many more that I know of through my line of work! I probably will not comment again here, as it is too personal (yeah, I hear the hand clapping already ~ so just stop it please ).

So, here goes my thoughts on "this" case, although I have distanced myself, and have not looked at all the facts:

Wife #3: Cover-Up.

Wife #4 (MISSING WIFE AND MOTHER): You've got to be kidding me! Drew boy has the guns (meaning support) and the department to back him!!! He does not look for her; he is straight off disrespecting her character as a mother and wife in his attempt to throw the investigations elsewhere looking for a boyfriend; disrespecting her in that she would abandon her babies; his behavior is alarming to say the least; HE IS NOT HELPING SEARCH; he speaks to media playfully; he speaks on television without one fucking tear in his eye; he never speaks of his children needing to know where their mother is ("please, where ever you are, the children need to know you are okay, please call, or can you please come home for the your childrens sake???"); and then I read about the blue barrel and accomplice, which pinned the possible scene for me, but nothing else; etc.

There better be not only a public outcry in this County and State, but Nationwide . . . cover-ups are happening everywhere by the very people we pay to protect us. They happen for the bad, dirty, and the good! Likewise, the good always help cover-up for the bad and dirty!!! And the good are learning the dirty and bad!!! I always wondered what the term "good" cop vs. "bad" cop meant . . . it really does not matter when they all cover for each other!

Speaking from a personal experience . . . please know I am not attempting to offend anyone, especially those married to peace officers (I have two girlfriends who are, and understand my feelings completely, and I in turn know the fear they live with on a daily basis), nor a peace officer here reading. I know this to be true in what I have been through . . . and I've seen it when it actually reaches a court system and a plaintiff will not be paid for their silence! They were stronger than me, as I chose his demotion, and the Order to KEEP HIM THE HELL AWAY FROM ME and MY FAMILY!!! It was also a nice toping that his step-father was "Chief-of-Police", but it happens all the time without even that connection!

I pray for her babies ~ I pray that they will never be in his custody again! I also pray for all the families whose lives have been so terribly stripped by this monster! May he go into and share a very prison that he has helped send many too.

Looks like the stepbrother of DP tried to commit suicide because he's distressed over "possibly unwittingly helping dispose of SP's body".

http://www.nbc5.com/news/1471077...779/ detail.html

Isn't it only a matter of time now before DP is in handcuffs? How does he explain having a large blue barrel (supposedly of swimming pool chlorine) in his bedroom, large enough and heavy enough that he needed help in its disposal?
Even he seems resigned -- during a recent TV interview -- to the probability that he will be arrested, though he is still acting amused and smirky about it!

I wonder if somehow this step-brother was drugged by Drew to try and cover his tracks. And now the 14 yr old is going to the grand jury. I bet this kid is too afraid to say anything but I think this kid is the key to the whold case.

sorry finger slipped ,I meant whole case.

Just viewed the link above . . . a "ring-dinger", but has been my stance from day one!!! I'd like to know why he is STILL free and not in jail, and that question can only be answered by, you guessed it, the very same place he is/was employed (maybe the Chief and Attorney General were still trying to make up their minds on how to handle it)??? WHF, but then again, I believe I know why, and hope all of you do to.

Thank goodness the FBI has come in full force, and are an independent agency. She needs to be found, her family need to know, and her children need to be kept away from dad and placed with a capable, loving, and endearing family member(s)!

Best wishes Drew boy ~ 3rd wife dead, and 4th wife "missing"? The dude had actually escaped prosecution the first time around (although family members suspected different, but for odd reasons were NEVER interviewed by investigators, etc.). The thinking you can pull-off a 2nd "wife" murder/disappearance surely equals an arrogant idiot (politely put!).

* * * * * * * * * *

To steven johnson (11.28.07-3:23 pm) ~ "Even he seems resigned -- during a recent TV interview -- to the probability that he will be arrested, though he is still acting amused and smirky about it!"

All I can say is DING DING, and what an arrogant ass! Who in the hell has a missing wife and feels it necessary to cover his face with a bandana, muchless not join in searching for her. Oh, yeah, no need, as she is "where she wants to be". She may have wanted to leave this piece of a so called husband long ago, but not her children.

I hope and pray that he will not be a free man much longer, and I was very relieved to read that the FBI is "helping" the very department he worked with, which have been in charge of investigating her "disappearance". They were also involved in anything surrounding WIFE #3, if I am correct, and her abused body apparently drowned.

This man's actions are ABOVE the law in so many ways, and I hope that pretty much everyone is aware of that. DING DING hometown authorities, I do believe the FBI will not be as cautious in acting upon the facts here, and, at a minimum, incarcerating him in the interim . . . or until the "true" killer or her person has surfaced!

Justice for Stacy and her babies, family, and friends!!!

"Residents say Peterson case has shaken their confidence in police

November 29, 2007 - Eighteen times in two years, police were called to fellow officer Drew Peterson's home because of trouble between husband and wife. But Peterson's wife could never get authorities to arrest him. In fact, she was the only one ever charged.

Now residents of this Chicago suburb are wondering whether police were protecting one of their own -- and whether they bear some responsibility for what happened next.

Peterson's wife at the time of the domestic disturbance calls, Kathleen Savio, was found dead in 2004 under mysterious circumstances. And now his current wife, Stacy, is missing and feared slain.

The way Bolingbrook police dealt with Peterson "makes it kind of hard to trust cops," said Pablo Delira, a 59-year-old construction worker. He said he has no doubt he would have been led away in handcuffs if police had been called to his house 18 times.

Kim Camplin, who works in the clothing business, said the two women might be alive today if Bolingbrook police had taken the domestic disturbance calls more seriously.

"It doesn't matter if it's a fireman, a policeman or a clergyman -- all it should take is one call and it should be taken seriously," she said. "What faith can we have in the system?"

Peterson, 53, was a police sergeant and 29-year veteran of the force, resigning earlier this month after he came under suspicion in his current wife's disappearance in October.

In a roughly two-year period beginning in 2002, police responded to 18 domestic disturbance calls at Peterson's house. Savio accused Peterson of beating her and threatening to kill her, but no charges were ever brought against him.

Instead, Peterson twice persuaded prosecutors to charge Savio with domestic battery. She was acquitted both times.

Police Lt. Ken Teppel said that in all 18 instances, police conducted a thorough investigation. He said a department inquiry found no indication officers did anything wrong or violated procedure.

But Teppel acknowledged the case has damaged the department's reputation.

"There is a distrust ... that this is going to be covered up," he said. "It's so hard to get over that.""

Drew Peterson says his retirement "sucks" because of the media on his street and his children not being able to have a normal childhood. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How about retirement sucks because "My wife's not here to share it with me" or "Now that retirement's finally here, it's not turning out the way Stacey and I had planned"...or, or, or...funny the way his mind and mouth work.

I watch a lot of crime and court tv. There was a guy who killed his wife or someone I forgot who and had the body in a 55 gal drum in a rental storage for at least 2 years. Suppose Peterson did the same thing. Police are searching all the waterways and all the time she's sitting in a rental storage. All he has to do is bide his time and wait until the heat is off. I think his second wife was hit over the head and held underwater. She probably came to and fought for air which is why she had bruises on her elbows or arms.

police are going to places where his cell phone signal was the night she disappeared. He's a cop, he knows they'll do that. Maybe he had someone else using his cell phone because he knew that. Has anyone checked any of his friends' cell phones to see where they were at.

I think the Bolingbrook police department needs to be investigated. To let a psycho like Drew Peterson kill possibly two people and get away with it, just look the other way. To date a 16 year old and steal from drug arrests or whatever and allow him to get away with it. He thinks he is sooo cute and charming and funny..evidently to Bolingbrook police department thinks so too. How discusting. Those poor kids are living with a serial killer. It's very scary.

GIULTY

I feel so sorry for the children, they may be small but they know and the pain will come out later in their life. As for Stacey I know by now shes with God. How can Drew look at his children and not at least let them find the body. For a closer for them but I'm afraid there will never be a closer. These kids will never be the same and then Drew will it be worth it. You said you'll never get another date I can't believe you would be thinking of such a thing, but your right you want.

He had a little help from some friends. It would be a cool 250 grand on that one would be my guess. Lifestyles dont fit. Living a little to high on the hog, for that income. Excuse the pun. They obviously know how to deal. I dont mean the cards. I hope they fry for what happened. I want those families to have peace. Not a night goes by I put my head on the pillow and pray for them. I admire them for their strenth and courage. Their families obviously loved them very much.I hope they keep their faith and remain strong. Time does not heal all wounds but knowing justice has been done may help lessen their burden. He is an ass to the 10th degree. I believe they were out to make money. He obviously likes the attention. He is a dirty swine. i believe stacey was 12 or 13 when he was seeing her mom. Little to sick for my taste. If figure it this way. He goes to jail and they dont like men that do kids.

D.P. IS LIKE A DAMN KAT. SNEAKY. MAYBE SOMEONE SHOULD SHOVE A HAIRBALL DOWN HIS THROAT. I SAW SOMETHING AROUND 1030 LAST NIGHT ON A NEWS SHOW. HE IS SHOCKED AT THE NEWS. REALLY NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO BE SHOCKED. WHAT A REVELATION. I BET HE DOES NOT READ THE GOOD BOOK. I BET THERE IS A LOT MORE TO THE STORY, BUT THE KAT PROBABLY HIS TONGUE RIGHT NOW.

I believe kathleen died in the toilet not the tub. the laceration was from the lid of the toilet being jammed against her neck.

I believe kathleen died in the toilet not the tub. the laceration was from the lid of the toilet being jammed against her neck. Excuse me seat not lid

Can someone please tell me whats going on here?! I have been out of the loop for a while and have only just checked up again on this story. It seems we all are the only ones who know he is guily as sin. Why has he not been charged on the evidence that they have. I do agree that there is a definite cover up here and the cops are protecting one of their own. Give the poor victims families some peace and closure. I fully expected after being away from this story for nearly 3 months that it would have been wrapped up and in the bag - so to speak. Why is this man still roaming the streets to do it to the next 'love of his life". I can't believe it. Come on!! Someone in the Department should get their act together and get DP off the streets and put him where he belongs. Give his victims some justice.

It really bothers me that no-one will even examine any other suspects aside from Drew in these cases. Support that he might not have murdered anyone does exist...Drew told Stacy that Kathleen had come on to him and exposed herself in his joking taunting best. That is plenty of motive. We are talking a girl with such a bad temper that she almost killed her step-mom Linda when she was only 11. Cass has a documented bad temper also. Stacy would go to Kathleen's to "chat" often, so she had easy access to the house too. Stop and look at everything before pinning it on Drew. Being slimy doesn't translate to murderer. MOO. Considering Drew's shady friendships perhaps Witness Protection might be a better place to look for Stacy...

Perhaps a psychic might sort it out once and for all. There seems to be plenty of 'evidence' that they work. Would be interesting. There just seems to be a cover up here - that's all. I like the idea from 'casebusta' perhaps there is a point there too, but then she wouldnt have gone anywhere without her kiddies. I just wish there were some answers for her family.
