My daughter graduated from that school a few years ago... she knew the teacher. He also taught my niece. Apparently there was another allegation some time ago that was labeled "unfounded." Now, of course, I'm sure everyone is wondering.

Reannan, did you read my whole post? I checked out every link he created. I used web archive links because if a University admin notices all the extra traffic to this guy's pages, which appear to still be on their servers, those pages will be gone. I noticed what you pointed out, it just didn't fit with what I wanted to post -- I was consciously avoiding making the entry too long and involved.

Hay Steve, I don't think he didn't do it, and I don't think he was framed. The authorities took the proper channels and they have the evidence and He will get every second of crap he deserves.

I don't pity him at all.

He is not a victim. I would like to use several other explicatives to describe how I feel about what he did, but I will not stoop.

I feel sick about this, but I dated this bastard for about 3 months last year. I believed all his talk of Christianity and had even been to his church. He once told me a story about how he'd gotten into trouble before when he was fresh out of college. He said that a female student has "misinterpreted" his comments and reported him. He said that it had scared the crap out of him that he came so close to losing his job just because someone took a comment the wrong way. Well, now I know that was a BS story and that he probably tried the same stuff back then, but talked his way out of it. I hope he gets everything he deserves.

He really didn't seem like a creep.

Tillis has displayed chronic lapses of judgement in his classes. Tillis has tossed his shoes in class, written on the wall, and shown little regard for the sunshine state standards. I have come to the conclusion that in line with his variant of evangelical christianity, he expects others to cover up for everyone's faults, especially his own.

Discussing additonal points, disturbing as such activity is, does it need to be really classified as a crime? Furthermore, at what point did the girl say no? There is something incredibly fishy about the girl. Tillis had offered several opportunities for extra credit in class, extending from bonus questions answered in class to essays on the current mathematical concept. On the day of the crime he had offered 50 points extra credit via a worksheet. Why did the girl pursue this further? We're talking about a teenage girl in high school, how can she not know what a 'blowjob' is? Something just doesn't seem right about all of this.

i have to agree there, though i'm not going to point blame at anyone wholely, because there is always the chance of being wrong, and i agree with sarah's biblical allusion, but, there is something fishy, his EC was everywhere, i asked him for an essay to boost my grade and he accepted, and apparently she was given the alternative also.
there's no doubt that he at least agreed to the bj but yes, there's something about the girl that is strange, i just don't want to point blame if she really is innocent

Isaac Tillis was my math teacher two years ago. He was a nice guy willing to help and was a pretty good teacher. I really don't see how you could have failed his class. You can get B with your eyes closed and and A with the tiniest effort.

However, what i have noticed about most young teachers is that they don't know where to draw the line between being a teacher and a friend. I remember several occasions where he would talk about his love life, of how he was going through a divorce and who he was dating. I find that all these young teachers I have had from middle school through college can often be prompted to cross the line if pushed enough. Although i think he is guilty, the students in these situation are often partly to blame because they play the teachers up.

It's a sad situation but I truly believe that schools need to screen teachers even more. How many cases have we had like this in Florida alone. But despite these rotten teachers, Bartow High School is a very good school, prob one of the best in the area.

I had MR Tillis for math in 2004 he was a great person comical great math teacher during break times he would assist thouse that needed it if not he would call his wife at the time never showed any interest in any girls or guys very loyal to his wife. but as they say people change
