For 12 hours? I'll bet they didn't even stop for "walkies" since the dog did his bizness ON the car. sheesh. That is stupid and cruel, but in the article it says that riding with a dog in an open bed of a truck is also illegal, I think that's good. I see that all the time and it really bugs me, but it's a tad better, more pleasant and less dangerous than this bozo idea.
FWIW, my family let the dog take a walk when she needed to do her duty. And they had no problem with her sticking her nose in the air conditioner.
