Funny how so few in the media (or most others with left-leaning tendencies) even talk about just how Tom Delay was "taken down" anymore. It wasn't at the ballot box. And mark my words, he won't have a single charge brought by the Democrat's hit-man Ronnie Earle hold-up against him. Democrats loathe Delay mainly because he was incredibly effectual in his job. Some Republicans may dislike him for any number of reasons, including the absolute betrayal he has shown by leaving our district without a viable Republican candidate. But this whole ugly affair began with a Democratic / Media endorsed hit job on Delay. Remember that the next time one of your own is in the cross hairs. Lampson better enjoy his short two year return to DC.
Nah...DeLay had nothing to do with it.
Delay was no more guilty or innocent than 75% of his congressional peers. Don't kid yourself. I'm not suggesting that he or any other elected official shouldn't be held accountable for their actions. But this was a hit job. Grand jury shopping... if not buying. Switching charges on the fly when initial charges prove bogus. In my opinion, the way this was all brought about is a bigger crime than those Delay was accused of. Look at what happened to Cynthia McKinney. She easily should have been run out of office months ago. She wasn't. But her own district cleaned up the mess at the polls.
Hey, I think we should term limit all of these yahoos to 12 years in the Senate and 10 years in the house... but that's just me.
