What if the point was simply to merge the U and N together. So maybe it was intentional in that respect? Maybe not a great idea from an artistic point of view, but it is much more likely than a typo in my opinion.

Actually, it looks sort of like Sinlust with a leaf accent. I think it's evil, but it is delicious and refreshing. A lot of evil things are.

I've searched and searched for a topic like this. I also discovered the mistake on the logo a couple years ago. I was practicing my handwriting, so I noticed the can one day and saw the U was missing an extra stick/curve at the end, so it appeared to be an I instead. I told my mom and friends, and they finally saw it after I wrote it myself on a paper. Nice to know someone else observes things like that besides me!

It was interesting reading this blog but it seems obvious to me that it was intentional. I noticed that it looks like sinkist because on the bottle it has a drop of orange liquid above the start of the u, making it look even more like an i. If you look at the beginning of the i at the end and the start of the u, you can see the lip at the beginning of the u, distinguishing it from the i as a u. This seems to me like an obvious attempt to merge the u and n. The question is if it was deliberate or that no-one in the company realised it could be misinterpreted this way (easy enough to miss).

I'm pretty sure it's intentional that they merged the U and the N together. I noticed it right away and I liked it.

I know this blog is pretty old but I just happened upon it. The merging of the two letters has always been that way. Look up any vintage t-shirt or memorabilia from the 70's and it's like that. It is a little bit more noticeable on the redesigned cans though. It was just a play on letters and I'm quite certain there was no menacing ploy behind it.
