Hypocritical commentary

I never buy what they offer and so it works?
Or, it works because even though I never buy what they offer, I continue to return, week after week, for the abuse, like some poor masochistic simpleton heading for a beating?
It has never worked -- except when they upsell what I wanted anyways, in which case I feel like a sucker.
Further consternation: The prerecorded upsell chimes in with this hyper-enthused female voice...I respond in the negative...and tagteam style an apathetic male's voice takes my order. It's all very confusing slash annoying.
