I had just stopped reading my book to do a little email/blog browsing when I happened across your latest.

Fittingly, the book I was reading = "The Zen of CSS Design". I'm in a similar situation, trying to polish up the CSS for my site-in-dev. I'm not doing the CSS myself, but I'm doing this reading so I can figure out what to expect in terms of design limitations.

And so, I feel compelled to mention that said book can give a good frame of reference for what can + cannot be done with CSS, and what to expect of your imminent new recruit.

At this point my expectations are hovering around "not crap." But the portfolios that have been arriving all day have been heartening.

We might just get this thing out the door yet.
