Hey Rick...apologies for commenting "off topic," but couldn't find a way to e-mail you directly. Would love to chat offline.
I discovered your post about PRstore last July while considering an offer to work as a copywriter at PRstore's DesignCentral studio in Charlotte. Your post actually was very helpful to me...before I accepted the offer, I wanted to understand all the pros and cons and the criticisms that existed about the company.
It was nice, too, to see the responses from others within PRstore Nation -- including my current boss and some franchise owners who send me work daily.
PRstore has come a long way since your initial post. We now have 40 stores in 19 states, and we're finally blogging. We have 8 more stores already scheduled to open this year, and plan to expand with 30 new stores by the start of 2009.
Any chance you'd be willing to do a "Catching Up" post? I'd be happy to serve as a source -- I'm a copywriter and the lead blogger -- and could refer my readers to your post.
Hope things are going well. Feel free to reach me via e-mail if you'd like to talk offline.

As a former barrista as well, I knew that their "retraining" wasn't about coffee at all.
The advent of the Caffina machine completely removed good coffee from Starbucks (not to mention Barnes & Noble Cafe's, where I earned my stripes).
I posted a bit of a rant on this exact topic the day after the shutdown that you would probably appreciate, being a former barrista yourself.
Starbucks espresso got so bad after they switched to Caffina that I actually stopped drinking coffee altogether (I always thought Starbrucks drip coffee was far too acrid).
How much training does it take to push a button anyways?
