Great workarounds. I recently found myself using Summize more than I use Twitter. Brilliant resource. I suppose the limitations Twitter sets invite creative innovations.

You said that "if you're tracking your username, you're going to get an echo of the tweets you send."
if your search is "username", you're right. But if your search is "@username", you don't get any echo.

just found out that you can also search for "username -from:username" to get rid of your own twitts
