Well that blows..

I have dreamhost as my provider and they allow the content.. but won't have the visiblity

But.. ya.. not a freedom of speech issue, since it does not cover writing on someone else's billboard

does suck..

Youtube aren't interested in making a stand on these issues. If they get a complaint, they're likely to just pull stuff down. It's not worth the hassle on their end.

I wonder how much traffic you're getting from youtube instead of from your blog - I would be surprised if it was very much, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd certainly look in to a more adult-friendly provider as a backup at the very least.

Shame we live in a world where this is normal, but there you go

I heard about the suspension this morning as well, and was thoroughly surprised by it. Every video of theirs that I've watched has just been white rope and a pair of hands; I'm not even sure if any of their vids contained full humans. :P

I have a feeling this is going to play out the same as Violet Blue's ordeal with Flickr... a continuing drama. It's unfortunate and highly disappointing when companies like YouTube err on the side of extreme caution when it comes to regulating content.

Also, note to Anon: Google owns YouTube, so I'm guessing their policies are the same. Don't know about the others though.

I just found this out today, or I would have posted it earlier. But, the Two Knotty Boys have some videos up for download on another site. You do actually have to download them, save them to your computer, and then watch them...but, here is that link.
