"And like Barry would hardly be interested in being a miracle working Rebbe."
change one word and it makes even more sense
and like "the Rebbe" would hardly be interested in being a miracle working Rebbe.

Can we go back to the discussion on bittul?...
To post a slightly different view: The FR had multiple goals, the major of which was relief for Soviet Jewry, next was hafatzah of chabad chasidus in Poland and Europe, third was strengthening the network in America. These goals can be seen in the letters he wrote, the Yeshiva in Otwock, and the visit to America.
The FR wanted the Rebbe to stay and run Tomchei Tmimim together with Rashag, or at least as a RY/Maggid Shiur. There were tremendous family fights due to a certain ego, which the FR complained about in his diary. The Rebbe therefore took to wandering Europe, Berlin and then Paris, and did secretarial and editorial work (including editing Hatomim, and even then his name did not appear so as not to arouse the ego) from afar. The son in law according to every witness whose name actually appears sat Al Hatorah and Al HoAvodah wherever he was, and there was nothing to be ashamed of. We actually have the Reshimos as a record of what the Rebbe was learning then, the content of the Reshimos were not written overnight.
If the Rebbe had had a child, he would probably have educated him himself or through private melamdim, similar to the chinuch of the FR. The Rebbe gained his early knowledge of the sciences through self study in Russia, and the child could have accomplished the same. The family interest ran to every subject under the sun, and included Jewish and secular subjects, and the son probably would have been exposed primarily to the Jewish subjects.
Barry's chinuch was a product of who his parents were. Given that his parents were lightyears away in personality than the Rebbe and Rebbetzin (friendship between the Rebbetzin and her sister aside, differing personalities can have friendship), their child would have been lightyears away from what Barry became as well.

You are so shallow.
Btw, who was the father of Barrys mother?

The father was non other than the F.R, so according to your logic Chana and Mousiya should have been very alike since they were products of the same parents

There is a version (Yiddish) on 770live.com to accompany the audio; however, it is difficult to print--it's a picture (bad quality for printing) and it's a pain to constantly scroll down and print out a screen print. Looking forward to hearing about a better printable version.

Is sholom that new hit man here, telling everybody how shallow they are and how they bring nothing to the conversation, yet says nothing else?

we created a fictional character and already decided that he'd be like his depressed first cousin. Why? because somebody here got a bad batch of LSD?

Sholom, I thought the place for ad hominem attacks was on Circus Tent. Tzemach was the only one who allowed himself that pleasure here, and even that has stopped recently.
ben chorin, the best place is otzar770.com, ignoring the Yechi banner on the site, as a jpeg. Alternatively, on lahak.org you will find it bundled in their yearly yud shevat maamar package as a pdf.

i know i'm moving away from the original content of the post...But re: Basi Legani--those sites seem to have only the Hebrew version of the 5711 maamar. Any place where the yiddish is posted (and printable)besides 770live.com?

I'm sorry, I didn't notice the Yiddish request. Maamarim are never published in Yiddish, only in Loshon Kodesh. You can listen to the original Yiddish at wlcc.org.

radloh, Tzemach's issue with the Rebbe is personal, and a Maamar in 5711 isn't going to make the hurt go away.
Being forced into it isn't about being a Tzaddik, it's about the rebistive.

Guravitzer/all:
While Radloh collects his thoughts i just wanted to continue the tangent for a moment before rejoining the world-
In a quest for info--i'm aware of the maamarim printed in Hebrew as oppposed to Yiddish, so do you know why the booklet appearing on 770live.com in Yiddish is there? I.E. is this something that was approved? Was it something the Rebbe did or didn't want? Anybody know?

I don't know of approval, the Maamar for Bar Mitzva boys to say was written out in Yiddish to assist them and the FR published 5 years of Maamaorim in Yiddish, so this wasn't an absolute rule.

"While Radloh collects his thoughts"
to what exactly should i respond? guravitzer covered everything...
as for tzemach, if it is about yichus and chabad, the rebbe has similar views.
three short stories.
1) when gansburg married his ba'al teshuvoh wife he wrote to the rebbe about his concerns about her yichus and the rebbe responded that the question is if she will have you...
2) in my own family the same issue presented itself, with my mother being worried and the rebbe had a similar response.
3)shaliach of northwestern university, from a non-chabad family, spoke of his difficulties in chabad on this issue and said a story that when he was denied shlichus to seattle, he entered the elevator and the rebbetzin got in. the rebbetzin saw his white face and noticed something was wrong. she asked what had happened and he related to her... the next day he was called in that he is going to seatlle
4) in my own family i have found out that we come from bais harav and yet my grandfather accepted the gossip that he was a gruziner and would say to his own children "der tatte is geven a yid", never saying where he was from. this was accepted in our family as a tradition of non-yichus in chabad. in the family, therefore, there are many non-gezhe shidduchim.

For a little elaboration:
Gansbourg (the correct spelling of this particular family, radloh) refers to R' Heishke (Tzvi Hirsh) z"l, who passed on recently. Famous as one of the M'nagnim by the farbrengens (in addition to R' Yoel, and R' Shmuel Zalmanov who preceded them). His wife is -shetichye- the daughter of Irving Stone of Artscroll fame (but not gezha, nonetheless).
*
Another point of interest:
Re the BM Maamar - Guravitzer, your thought-process is validated, because before the Issa B'Medrash Tehillim was printed (5708 IIRC) - they would say a random one from SM Yiddish (from R' SDB Butman, who told me he did Korov Hashem, on R' Shlomo Chaim's request;
He also recounted a humorous anecdote in passing - R' SC told him to stop after each phrase. That way, in actuality, when he didn't remember the next piece, no one indeed stopped him, for they thought he's pausing again..)
