Wake up, Tzemach. The kid and his buddies slashed tires, hurled insults and probably threw plates, silverware and other objects at Netanyahu. The kids were there to disrupt the wedding to make a protest. At worst, all the unnamed reporter did was encourage them. He didn't bring them from Netanya and pay them to do it. He met them at the wedding. (In fact, he may have been there because he was tipped by the anti-Disengagement Chabad group that is having the protest on Thursday. That is probably why he was there.) After Netanyahu left, the 17 year old Yoni Kahana called Israel radio to inform them of the incident. The police simply checked the call records, found the owner of the phone and arrested him. There have been several incidents like this in the last week. To take IMRA's blurb at face value is foolish.

From my days in Russia I remember that the government used it’s media to demonize and criminalize the opposition. I know they did in Israel during Oslo and from the barrage of reports about this minor incident in the Israeli press it appears that they are doing it again.

I was in Israel during the first 18 months of Oslo. As bad as the media often was, the incompetence of the anti-Oslo forces was much, much worse. Further, there is much more media in Israel today than there was 11 years ago, and it is far easier to get your message out. The fact that anti-Disengagement groups have done such a poor job of that should tell you something, and that something isn't a secretive media/Shin Bet conspiracy – it is the abject incompetence and total lack of qualified leadership on the right.

Don't waste your time blaming the "other." You have enough crap in your own house, so to speak, to blame first.

The fact that "anti-Disengagement groups have done such a poor job" tells me that we have to help them do a better job and not help the opposition.

If you believe that is the correct shita, do so.

I certainly did more than my share during the anti-Oslo years.

But these are very difficult people to help.

Shmarya, where did you get this crap from? slander is a federal crime that you can be sued for.

"and probably threw plates, silverware and other objects at Netanyahu."

"Shmarya, where did you get this crap from? slander is a federal crime that you can be sued for."

News reports from Ha'aretz, Reuters, A7, etc.

Sue away.
