At the time of the book trial in 1987 the NY Times published a photo of Gourary. A year or so later NEWSDAY had a photo of Barry Gourary holding a photo of his grandfather. The ALGEMEINER ZHURNAL also had pictures of Gourary in the 1980's.I do not have any other photos. Gourary had a short beard if thats what the curious wish to know.
Speaking of pictures of the bais horav does anyone have any photos of the rebbe's father Rav Levik as a rav in the Ukraine ?

I have seen a photo of r' mendel ben Hamharash schneersohn of paris. i was wondering if R' mendel has any grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Yes I know that photo. Are there others ? I believe his son also left Lubavitch as nothing is heard of him after his days in Tomche T"mimmim. I have not seen any mention of any of his children etc. I have vague recollections of reading that some megillos he had (from the Maharash ??) were yarshened by Rabbi Zalman Schneersohn of Paris and the late Rebbe.I forgot the story here.
The only sibling of the Rashab who had children who remained within the "fold" ( as afar as I know - I certainly hope there are others) were the children of Reb Moshe hakohen Hornstein who remained active and proud jews in Poland and Israel.
while some of reb moishe and dvorah leah horenstein's grandchildren remained within the fold as proud yidden, unfortunately others left the fold and some even intermarried...
the Raza had three marriages and i think at least 2 daughters, but i don't know what came of their children if there were any.
r' mendel was also married more than one time.

the rebbe maharash had 6 children: the raza, the rebbe rashab, dvorah leah ginsburg (NOT horenstein as written above), reb mendel and the youngest was chaya mushka horenstein.
There was also another son, Hayeled Hakodosh Avrohom Sewnder who passed away when he was eight years old. it is said among chassidim that he had the Neshama of the Baal Hatanya

There are still Hornstein desc. in Israel but they are not frum. as far as I an tell the RAZA had only 1 aughter Mrs. Wolfson about whom I know nothing. The Ginzburgs children were all revolutionaries and some desc. are still in Russia.
Prof Schneersohn was Fishel Schneerson a member of the Kopust branch, but according to Bere Gourary a good friend of the Rayaatz in Warsaw and a dati Jew.

Reb Mendel at one point married into the Schreiber family as did one of Reb Shmuel Gourary's son , Julius I think.
