Gravatar one addendum, i think this recording is actually from somewhere in 2002.

Gravatar I'm back,
That sounds terrible. "We're going to learn some Torah now" When was that? Maybe I just couldn't discern the words of Torah through all the yelling, 'great' drumming, and Marley lyrics (sung a third too high-did you notice that?) Matisyahu is kinda cool- don't get me wrong, but I think he is certainly the "Tamir Goodman" of Reggae, if you know what I mean. Sure, legit Rastafrarians have taken notice, but it's 70% novelty. As for Pey Dalid- to keep the metaphor going, they are like the nameless frum stiff that Tamir played with in Yehsiva. Just plain bad. No novelty or anything.

Gravatar One more thing:
"Rasta Rebbe" is oxymoronic. Rastafarian is most certainly Avodah Zara. My understanding is that they feel one of their recent presidents was some kind of divine incarnation. I can see how that might appeal to a Lubavitcher, but for the rest of Jews "Rasta Rebbe" is mutually exclusive.

Gravatar NAPD,

i offer you a big hug

Good Shabbos!
