I know someone who used to be a Hois Bocher" for the Rebbetzin, and knows barry well.He said that he has a ton of pictures and other things and hopes to speak to him a bout it.
If Barry published a copywrite-protected book with these photos together with a biography and background on the pictures, this would go a long way towards rehabilitating him in the eyes of those who only know about him via public chastisings by his uncle. (though as a victim, he doesn't need anyone's vindication)
I have seen the Rebbe enraged on two occasions. Once about a terror in Israel and the other time about Barry and the books. I know that close family animosities can get out of hand, but I can’t explain why the only offspring of the house of Lubavitch is less precious that even the Ball Shem Tov’s Siddur. Tzemach, you are talking about Rabbon Shel Yisrael, there is no such a thing as as bad spirit. The Rebbe himself said about Barry "Ich Hub Em Lib Kamayim Haponim El Ponim". vindictive? if baary needed a few million dollars and didnt go around stealing holy sefarim he would have been helped by lubavitch. Bad Spirit? if any one was taken over by a bad spirit it was Barry and Barry alone.

The Rebbe made that very clear. It was about whether the "house of Lubavitch" ceased to exist or not. Whether it was the time to divide the spoils...
Barry has 2 daughters and is in bad health. I doubt he will publish any photos he has.I would not want to see some of them myself.
Actually Krinsky who has control of the papers of Mrs. Mushka Schneersohn and the rebbe probably has many more interesting photographs from the collection of Rabbi and Mrs. Mendel Schneerson.
When Mrs. Gourary was in Montclair and the RaShaG in the hospital , Jimmy G. organized a raiding party of their apartment in 770 which took everything including Chana Gourary's dresses and her shoes... This included papers and photographs. Only non essential materialw as eventually returned to barry after the court case was closed.
So there are lots of photos out there , like the Rebbe on skies with a beret and the like. But onlu under a serious Glassnost will they ever be published.

I am sure many pictures of the Rebbe the Rayaatz can not be printed because Shmaryahu Gourary is standing next to his father in law, or Barry is in the photo. Other pictures show the rebbe in Berets or other clothing now thought of as not befitting the Rebbe.The same is probably true of photos of the Schneersohn daughters in Poland.
Personally I could care less about seeing the pictures as neither of the 3 Schneerson daughters made any special claims of piety.

About R. Bentzion Schneersohn, he came to visit NY a few times. I know that at one particular visit - I think in the Sixties - he stayed in the Rebbe's house on President St.
The Rebbetzin (and maybe the Rebbe too - not sure) went to pick him up from the airport.
Reb Benzion was, I think, childless.

I too recall Ben Zion in Brooklyn, he did stay in the rebbe's house and ate witht he Gourarys. I think he was a bookeeper. He too had no children ??Wow that category includes Rabbis Dworkin, Uszpol, Mentelik etc A coincidence ?

Yes it's true that Mrs Chana Gourary is buried in Chelkas Munkatch (I remember the loudspeaker car driven around Boro Park anouncing the funeral)

Chana is buried in Munkatch . As is Minna Gurary. Barry is aware that the Rayaatz was close to the Minchas Eluzar.
A "bessere kasha" did they go to nichum aveilim with Barry when the RaShaG died? the answer is no unless yours truely is suddenly considered a Lubavitcher ! A few did .Yes they drove it past but only Jimmy was outside.After all he was the proud owner of her clothing etc.
Minna is the daughter of Reb Berel Chaskind a mekusher to the Rayaatz. Her brother Shalom is a Chabad askan in Tel Aviv.
By the way the Rebbe did not go to Barry either when his father or mother died.
Jimmy is a second cousin of the RaShaG. I guess he was always "jealous" of r. Shmaryahu, as he always tried copying him , married the daughter of a rebbe in his case the kapishnitzer.
R. Shmaryahu and Channa were married in Russia, I am sure that Barry or Jimmy has plenty of photos of Chana in Poland. She also traveled to France and Germany.
In sefer Ishkavta deRabbe by the mekusher, rabbi Moshe Ber Rivkin the resh Mesifta of Teyre Vedaas there is a footnote about the Gourary family and one can see the relationship of Barry and Jimmy there.
The Rashag and the Razag (Jimmy) were FIRST cousins, theyre fathers were brothers.

The only thing that was wrong in this case was the beating of Mrs Gourary, which was carried out by a NUTCASE.
As a Buddhist I was horrified to read of this matter and at the risk of being simplistic - I would assert that no single book is worth physically harming another human being. The only message in a book that might be so valuable could infact only say the same thing: "harm no one".
