There was a Zalman Schachter who was a shul rov and shaliach in Fall River Mass before he left his wife and kids and ran off with another woman, scandalizing the community and Chabad. Zalman Schachter Sholomi. He was a personal chasid of Rabbi M. Schneerson . He was one of the first shluchim in Fall River, and New haven ,CT where he and the late rabbi Berel Levy started the mosdods chabad before the arrival of the current local royal family. He was also a good buddy of Shlomo Carlebach.
Schachter did not leave Lubavitch because of his taayves. he left because he was a spiritual seeker and Lubavitch was not expansive enough for his search.
He did not reappear in Phil. He never disappeared as he was a Hillel director in Winnepeg and a Havurah spiritual leader in Boston. then he was appointed professor of religion at Temple U. in Phil. A brilliant man but lost in his own brilliance. Hashem yishlach lo refuah shleima bekol haInyonnim !

Rabbi Chaim Prus was sent by the REBBE to go on shlichus in Boston, and he was the first to establish a chabad house in boston. It is a true chillul lubavitch for krinsky to be sending additional shluchim in the backyard of a person who was personally appointed to the task by the Rebbe.
